Tokyo is a restaurant that I am pleasantly surprised to see in a place like Columbia City. The rolls are very good and there are a large variety, plus their specials. They also have specialty drinks like different flavored iced teas and milk teas or ramune. This is the first restaurant I had takoyaki at and I didn’t think I’d like it because I’m iffy about octopus, but it was very tasty. I love the way they plate their rolls, too. And they are very always very kind and happy to help you.

I really wanted to love this place. The decor from the street looks awesome. Once inside there was some box clutter and a peculiar smell. For a Saturday night they did not have much business. We ordered Happy roll, Tonkotsu ramen, and chicken hibachi. Soup and salad come with the hibachi chicken. The soup was miso and came out luke warm. The salad dressing had the consistency of apple sauce and was bland. The happy roll was gummy and the roll felt room temperature which was a little worrisome. The ramen came out slightly warm and needed help in the flavor department. The hibachi chicken was terrible. The chicken was dry and the mushrooms were not even cooked. The fried rice just tasted like white rice. The service was fine and everything came out quickly. I don’t believe we will be back because of poor food quality.

Stopped in for Mother’s Day and had a great experience! We ordered a variety of hibachi dishes, including filet, shrimp, and chicken. All were delicious! We also ordered a couple sushi rolls that were quite tasty as well. They even brought my mother and sister Mother’s Day cards as well as a nice side dish as a treat. Needless to say, the food and service was outstanding!

Location is nice. Food isn’t horrible but the staff is. I would never eat here with the way they treat people. Rude and they talk about you in a different language. This place is trash in my opinion. Do not patronize this location. Had I been treated this way out of the business, bad things would of happened. You should be ashamed to be such horrible people.

The wife and I live 14 miles away. Tried this place because it is the closest sushi place to us. WHAT A GEM! We only go here now. We eat out every few months, and these people are so nice, the food is wonderful, the service is perfect! We honestly haven’t been anywhere else in well over a year… I love my sushi and saki, the wife loves steak and lobster rangoon. Anytime we decide it’s time we go out to eat again there pretty much is no question, this is where we both want to go!

My mom and I went in here for a quick dinner, and it was delicious. It’s nice to see a GOOD sushi place locally in Columbia City with reasonable prices. We had miso soup which was so flavorful, and split two sushi rolls. Plenty of food, and no requirement to break the bank. will return next time I’m in town.
