The Dumplings and Soup left an acquired taste in my mouth , and it also contained someone else’s hair. The Orange Chicken would be better with chicken breast instead of dark meat. The other dish was fairly good maybe cause my family and I were just ready to eat. The Jalapeno Chicken was decent , but there were tons of charcoal black pieces that were absolutely horrible when biting into.

We’ll definitely be back!! We were a little skeptical because because of the pictures online but decided to try it anyway. Although they took a little long in our order it was so worth it. The food was amazing, fresh and the portions were fantastic . We are so happy that we went to Tokyo Express and can’t wait to go back!!

This place is fantastic. Don’t expect much in the way of Japanese cuisine other than sushi or miso soup (Tokyo in the name is a bit misleading) it’s mostly a Chinese restaurant in a similar setup as Panda Express (cafeteria style line). All of the food is better than what I would’ve expected. What sets them apart though are the HUGE portions for the price. I got the special and went with orange chicken, jalapeño chicken, lo mein, and an egg roll. The egg roll was extra but was only 99c. Me and my buddies (young men in our twenties) couldn’t even finish our plates but they conveniently come in “doggy boxes” so you can just pack up your leftovers and leave when you’re done. If I lived near Port Isabel, I’d be here all the time. Highly recommend.

Food was awful, not cooked right, dirty restaurant rude staff. We were not pleased with our experience and will not be coming back. Menus are out of date, had nothing we wanted- do not eat off the steam table. Also very over priced, I would do zero stars but It’s not an option. Don’t recommend

This place is kinda gross. My table was sticky. They have limited menu, basically like the food court at the mall-2 items plus rice or low mein. I got a ROCK in my food and when I complained, the lady tried to tell me it was a carrot seed. Nope, I bit that thing, it was a rock, clearly they don’t wash the veggies very well. Their hanging menus are cut in half or turned around so you can’t order off them, the fountain drink machine was not in order. She had kids outside cleaning the windows but the inside looked like they should shut down for a week and clean the whole place. Never going back.

Great concept but the ingredients were not fresh at all and seems like they don’t care about the food anymore. I was very disappointed, especially when trying to help support a small local business. They could be so great too.

Update:I was saddened to see the TOKYO EXPRESS sign hand been taken down and a work crew appeared to be remodeling inside. Hope Tokyo Express comes back better than ever.

Very good flavors, fast servise and great portions and prices, the place was a litle warm and problably need a deep clean inside the kitchen. Also outdoor area looks like it could be cute with some love, you are still kind of close to the island only 5 min drive totally worth the drive Island prices are ridiculous and places are always overcroweded with bad service and food, this place is great for pescaterian and vegeterian options, and you can beat the dollar menu items

First time there at the recommendation of two of my friends. Daaaang the bourbon chicken is excellent! Noodles have such good taste as well I WILL be going back! Definitely a great Chinese place closer to the island!
