We had a horrible experience with the staff. Super rude and telling us they close in 5 minutes when we had 20 minutes until closing to eat. I understand the frustration when you have customers that stay 30 minutes after closing just to sit around and talk. However, we were there to eat and leave. Definitely won’t be coming back. I’ve never in my lifetime been told I could not eat in a restaurant 20 minutes before closing. Ridiculous.

Food is always fast and delicious. I’ve never had bad food or my order made wrong here. I highly recommend the hibachi chicken with zucchini, onions and carrots. Their white sauce is the best.

Great little restaurant with fair prices. We eat from here at least once a month and food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. Only one time have they messed up our order but it was not a big deal at all to even bring to their attention. They recently remodeled the interior and their menu. Menu pictures to be added. Staff always friendly.

Paid almost $30 for two steak hibachis & a side of noodles with white and hot sauce. The hibachi plates just came with soggy carrots & mushrooms. Everything was either over cooked or bland. Also the packaging is very cheap, be careful when opening.

I work at a small business and we do everything to help out the community especially in these hard times with all the prices going up, we were working late last night and got 4 hibachi plates to go. I spent almost $70 for food that was not edible, the chicken was so rubbery we could not eat it so disappointed. The last few times it just hasn’t been the greatest and spending $70 on food that we could not eat just don’t sit right with me. You guys lost business and I will be telling everyone

I Went in and attempted to pay with a $100 bill, that was pretty old, but still legal. Cashier did the light test and marker test, both passed. The bill was then passed between multiple employees gawking at how old it was and then the cashier would not accept it. I then tried to pay with card and told their reader was not working. I was then told to walk across a dark parking lot in the middle of Asheboro at 8:50pm to go get money from the ATM. Very unsafe, as i am a young woman who doesnt appear frightening. This was an awful experience, which is upsetting as issues like this normally never occur

UPDATE!!! Price INCREASE as of June 1, 2022. Weekly lunch specials increased to $7.25 (with tax total is $7.76) Tokyo Express has REOPENED – 02AUG2021 and WOW things have IMPROVED! Dine In is available! Newly remodeled qnd back in action, well sort of, as this food is Takeout ONLY. Since the “C” word hit, they have either been closed or only open for takeout orders. Lunch service was quick and delicious. The “soupiness” was gone and man were the portions HUGE! Great flavor. There were at least 6 employees inside the restaurant working/talking. Like other restaurants, I believe the profit margins are greater with takeout only service. It is not always about a lack of work force. So why open up fully and have the extra expenses like wear and tear, water/sewer, napkins, ice and beverage refills? Stop in and get your Asian grub on…ENJOY!
