And it’s been like this since we opened the doors of the first TOGO’S in San Jose, California back in 1971. We made the meatiest, most delectable sandwiches around. This used to be the sandwich shop to get good sandwiches. It only takes one bad sandwich to lose a regular. I can’t come back anymore after this sandwich. The roast beef quality is gone. Additionally, pieces of gristle and cartilage were piled onto my sandwich. I ate the first half thinking it was just a fatty cut with some chewy bits, but when I pulled the second half apart, multiple small pieces of gristle and cartilage were added to the sandwich.

The sandwich maker was very attentive to detail and the sandwiches came out delicious with generous fillings. We ordered 3 sandwiches, all with wheat bread which was very fresh. The server took a while to complete each sandwich, but I accept that as a fair trade off for the high quality.

After having Togo’s for years exclusively at events they catered, my opinion of their sandwiches was low. I recently tried some of their sandwiches at this location and was delightedly surprised at how good they were—a totally different experience than their catering platters. Nice value in the portion size for what you’re paying for the large size sandwiches—much beefier than a typical Subway sandwich, and also larger for similarly priced local competitors like Mr. Pickles and Sourdough & Co. In addition, the service at both my visits recently has been very friendly and speedy. We’ll be back!

Togo’s Sandwiches have been a mainstay in my life since I was a child growing up in northern California. Every Togo’s I’ve been to has had the same high quality and standards as the first one I went to. They use amazing ingredients and have outstanding bread. I love the fact that I can walk in and order a number 3, and it’s exactly the same as it was 35 years ago.

I am a high school teacher, showed up to this location during lunch rush to order sandwiches for 30 kids, plus chaperones. Despite being slammed at that time, they knocked out my order in under 45 minutes, with smiles on their faces. When there was one slight error in the order, they remedied it for me immediately, and free of charge. Oh, also, sandwiches were delicious.
