And it’s been like this since we opened the doors of the first TOGO’S in San Jose, California back in 1971. We made the meatiest, most delectable sandwiches around. My manager and I were so happy we finally have a togos close to us so we decided to try it out. We ordered over the phone for pick up very courteous staff. They said 20 min for all three sandwiches to be ready.

My husband and I came in with our 3 kids eager to try something new. We planned on eating there, it was 6:30, an hour and half before closing time. We walked in and they were already mopping. Whatever. We got to the counter and the cashier was very friendly and helpful so she’s the reason we gave any stars at all. We began ordering and the person who was mopping informed us we couldn’t dine in and had to take food to go. We have 3 young kids…we don’t take food to go. It really sucked because I wanted to try it but they were already closing up an hour and a half before closing time. We told them to just cancel the order and that we would go somewhere else. Not everybody wants to take their food to go…and if you want to begin closing at 6:30, adjust your operating hours to reflect that. No desire to go back and try it again either

The food is decent, albeit a little over priced. However, do not go here. They nickle and dime you for everything. Want veggies put on? That’s extra. Want mayo on it, that’s extra. They basically told me the only thing that is not extra is to sub something. Port of Subs is just as good in my opinion and they don’t nickle and dime you.

Not how I remember Togo’s growing up, it was always a friendly and high energetic place. When going into this location, it almost drained me of energy while I was inside. Sandwich was good, portion seemed a bit lite, both meat and veggies. Still better then subway imo.

These sandwiches are damn good. I got the meat trio sandwich (can’t remember the exact name), and it comes with au jus. Probably the best “French dip” style sandwich around. For a franchise type sandwich place, they still deliver some tasty sandwiches, and the pastrami is really good too.
