On a recent trip to Virginia for the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association 50th Anniversary Rally and to visit relatives on the Northern Neck, I planned my trip to specifically visit the To-Do for lunch. I ordered a plate of grilled oysters, grilled flounder, crab cakes and butter beans—all delicious. If you love seafood and homemade cooking, the To-Do Cafe near the Rappahannock River is the place to go. Comfortable atmosphere and lovely staff. Just wish I didn’t live three thousand miles away.

Service from Grace was outstanding. Food was fresh and delicious. This is definitely not frozen chain food. I love the cocktail sauce they have at the tables. Try the crab cakes.

Will definitely be back here! Food was like my grandma cooked it, delicious and seasoned with love. They got us in quick (no wait) on a Saturday and the staff was so sweet and friendly. Definitely gives family friendly vibes and has that local atmosphere which makes it feel so special.

I took my wife here for our anniversary. Wanted something new to us and nice. This place did not disappoint. We both got the crab cake dinner she got grilled I got fried. They were fantastic. I got fries and Mac n cheese for my sides. Fries a little bland but good. Mac n cheese could be way better but overall we both loved our food. The place was slammed when we went but still got a table quick. Fast service and the nicest crew around. To top it off there was a lady walking around that passed out biscuits and hush puppies. It was the greatest thing. We loved everything about it and will definitely be back.

Stopped for lunch at 11:30 on a Wednesday and it was already busy! People love this place. Fried pickles were the best we ever had. This place knows how to FRY! Fried oysters, chicken strips, hush puppies- all amazing. The wait staff is attentive and super friendly. We were not Tappahannockians (not sure if that’s the word) but it looked like many locals who know each other frequent this place. We will be back the next time we travel north from Hampton!

It really pains me to give this local eatery such low marks. The server was a good kid, the manager was so nice and the taste of the food was ok too. But my God, I have never seen smaller portions in my life. I got the clam basket with slaw, and I kid you not, it would not fill one side of a Big Mac Container. The slaw was about an eighth of a cup and the clams could not have been more than 2 ounces and that’s pushing it. This was $9 and my side salad was another $5. My wife got the steak salad and she said it was ok. $50 including an $8 tip for no food. I left totally pissed and discouraged but I didn’t complain, that’s not how I do things. Will I go there again? Well, I don’t like judging a place after one visit, but you can be damn sure that if I go back I will ask about portion sizes before I decide, and I have never done that before.

Stopped by for lunch today. We tried the flounder basket and the shrimp basket. Both were delicious. The French fries, hush puppies and coleslaw were good as well. The staff is friendly.

We had two lunch baskets: oysters and grilled catfish. Both were awesome. Some of the best oysters we have had in a long time and plenty of them for a super low price. They were plump and fresh. The catfish was cooked perfectly. Hush puppies were not my favorite but that’s ok. Down-home atmosphere. Will definitely come back!

Always a good time when I come to this restaurant! The wait staff was awesome! Dorothy was awesome as well. She made sure my order was correct and that I had all of the condiments I asked for. The food is absolutely delicious. The crab cakes are everything! If you haven’t had the crab soup it’s a must have! Next time I’m in the area I’m definitely stopping by to get some more delicious food with a smile.

First time here, and what a find! Friendly and hospitable service, like you’ve walked into a family member’s house. Fried crab cake was AMAZING! Handmade and fried perfectly: tons of crab meat! Hush puppies were the perfect compliment. Quaint little dining room and enclosed porch area for casual dining.
