Menu

Appetizers
Bacon Cheddar Mac & Cheese
Homemade macaroni and cheese is supplemented with bacon deliciousness, then topped with panko bread crumbs and baked. It’s real, and it’s spectacular
$7.49
Blue Cheese Chips
Thick, house cut potato chips covered with tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, and finished with balsamic glaze
$6.99
Bruschetta
I took a trip to Chicago over Labor Day weekend 2017, looking for ideas for this menu. I had some killer bruschetta at Lou Malnati’s with my buddy Chris and I thought, “Hey, we could do this!” Then I spent too much money at the bar and woke up with a hangover. Moral of the story: bruschetta is better than a hangover. Balsamic glaze by request
$7.99
Chicken Tender Basket
Half a pound of chicken tenders with fries. Served with your choice of dipping sauces
$8.99
Fried Cheese Curd
One of the best business decisions I ever made was forgetting to order enough fried cheese curd from my supplier one week, which forced us to try making it from scratch. It quickly became our best selling appetizer. Served with marinara sauce
$7.99
Fried Pickles
Five pickle spears breaded with Cool Ranch Doritos and deep-fried. Served with a spicy Ranch dipping sauce. I don’t think I’m supposed to use the actual Doritos brand name without getting some kind of license. Screw it
$5.99
Irish Nachos
Waffle fries topped with shredded cheese and bacon, then broiled and covered with tomatoes, scallions, fresh jalapenos and drizzled with ranch dressing. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
$9.99
Lettuce Wraps
Chicken, water chestnuts, and green onions sautéed in an unnecessarily complicated Asian-style sauce and served with lettuce leaves for wrapping. They’re healthy and also tasty. Eat them. Do it
$8.49
Pizza Logs
Four pizza logs stuffed with pepperoni and cheese. Served with a side of marinara sauce
$6.99
Southwest Egg Rolls
Chicken, cheese, black beans, corn, and jalapenos wrapped up and fried to a golden brown. Dynamite!
$7.49
Quebec Poutine
Traditional
Fries, cheese curd, gravy
$6.99
Angry
Fries, cheese curd, fresh jalapenos, Andouille sausage, gravy
$9.49
Thanksgiving
Fries, cheese curd, turkey breast, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy
$9.99
Prime Rib
Fries, cheese curd, shaved prime rib, gravy (subject to availability)
$10.99
Coronary Special
Fries, fried cheese curd, ribeye, pork belly, gravy
$12.99
Soups
Corn Chowder $3.99
French Onion French Onion $4.99
Soup Du Jour $3.99
Burgers
The 315
Three slices of American cheese. One half-pound burger. Five slices of bacon. Because I can
$12.99
The American Dream
A bacon-wrapped, cheese curd-stuffed, deep-fried burger. It should be illegal. Michelle Obama would not approve. Make America Obese Again…or continue Making America Obese. Obeser? I should go
$13.99
The Apple Jack
There’s a biker customer of ours that’s been pestering me to get cheddar cheese in for his burgers. Well Tom, it only took two and a half years but you got your wish. Cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelized apples, and a homemade maple aioli adorn this bad boy
$13.49
The Bruschetta-Bout It
I had to rip off at least one burger from “Bob’s Burgers,” mainly because I couldn’t come up with a good name for this one. It’s got mozzarella cheese, bruschetta, and pesto. Not Jimmy Pesto…just regular pesto
$12.99
The Cowboy
A burger brushed with BBQ sauce and topped with cheese, pork belly, and an onion ring…and unlike Ezekiel Elliott, it doesn’t get suspended down the stretch and screw my fantasy football team
$13.99
The Firecracker
Hot things are hot. Melted pepperjack cheese, jalapenos, and hot sauce
$12.99
The Mushroom Swiss
Grilled mushrooms and Swiss cheese. This one doesn’t need much explaining
$12.49
The Old Reliable
American cheese with lettuce and tomato. Mayo served on the side by request
$10.99
The Pig Candy
A burger topped with American cheese, candied bacon and finished with a homemade bourbon onion sauce. Porky Pig must have gotten drugged on a tour of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory or something. I keep telling him not to leave his drinks everywhere, but he’s a pig and doesn’t speak English. Sucks to suck, Porky!
$13.99
The Return Of The Mac
A tribute to forgettable 90’s songs everywhere (where did you come from, where did you go, who gives a sh*t about “Cotton Eye Joe”). Our normal burger is topped with a fried mac & cheese puck and then covered with cheddar cheese sauce. I’d say Mark Morrison would be enjoy it, but he’s probably still in prison holding someone’s pocket
$13.99
Salads
Apple Cheddar
Fresh romaine tossed with an apple cider vinaigrette, apple slices (local when available), cheddar cheese, shaved almonds, and dried cranberries. Not quite vegan, but who’s counting?
$10.49
Cobb
Lettuce, tomato, grilled chicken, bacon, hard-boiled egg, croutons, and blue cheese crumbles with your choice of dressing
$11.99
Southwest
Our romaine lettuce gets some new neighbors here – grilled chicken, corn, black beans, a three cheese blend, and fried tortilla strips along with a cilantro lime vinaigrette
$10.99
Wedge
A quarter head of iceberg topped with tomatoes, blue cheese, and bacon bits. Healthy. Sensible. Pretentious
$8.99
Sandwiches & Stuff
The Flying V
Quack quack quack, Mr. Ducksworth. Inspired by the Mighty Ducks movies, this is a crispy duck breast and pork belly club sandwich. Gordon Bombay would be proud. Served with lettuce, tomato, and a cranberry aioli. It’s a mouthful, and we might need to use the hand truck to get you to your car
$16.99
Steak & Cheese Monte Cristo
Ribeye steak, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and American cheese stuffed between two thick pieces of white bread, then battered and deep fried. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, or at least guarantees arterial plaque
$11.99
Meatball Sub
Meatballs! Marinara sauce! Mozzarella cheese! Broiled until the cheese is melted! Served on a grilled garlic hoagie roll. It’ll leave you so satisfied you’ll need a cigarette
$9.99
Chicken Parmesan
Panko-breaded fried chicken breast on a grilled garlic bun, finished with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. So good it makes me angry
$9.49
Buffalo Chicken
Panko-breaded fried chicken coated in hot sauce and served with lettuce and tomato with blue cheese dressing on the side. An old Eben’s favorite
$9.49
Thanksgiving Every Day
The third version of this sandwich, and I think the best one. Fresh cooked turkey, Swiss cheese, sliced apples, bacon, cranberry sauce, and a splash of gravy are stuffed between two slices of grilled white bread. Have mercy
$9.99
Fish Tacos
Battered cod, a homemade red cabbage slaw, and chipotle aioli are stuffed into three flour tortillas. Served with tortilla chips and homemade cheese sauce. The slaw is a little different than it used to be, for whatever that’s worth
$12.99
Hot Turkey
Fresh cooked turkey between two thick slices of white bread and smothered in gravy
$8.99
Chicken Quesadilla
Grilled chicken, sautéed peppers, sautéed onions, and a three cheese blend live in a grilled flour tortilla. Served with tortilla chips and homemade cheese sauce
$12.99
Chicken And Waffle Grilled Cheese
This idea is stolen from a spot in Orlando where they can’t make them fast enough. Breaded chicken breast, bacon, and American cheese stuffed between two grilled waffles seasoned with maple butter. Served with maple syrup
$10.99
Wings
Wings
Served with blue cheese or ranch and celery or carrots (sometimes the weather is stupid and ruins the celery crop out west)
$6.99
Half Pound Boneless Wings $6.99
One Pound Boneless Wings $12.99
Entrees
Crispy Skin Duck Breast
An 8 oz. Maple Leaf Farms duck breast, pan-fried until skin is crispy and then roasted to medium rare. Served sliced with a berry and red wine sauce. Duck breast can be cooked to your preferred doneness, but we recommend medium rare for optimal flavor
$25.99
NY Strip
A 12 oz. house cut Certified Angus Beef New York strip steak. Prepare for the meat sweats
$21.99
Flat Iron Steak
An 8 oz. USDA Choice flat iron steak cooked to your preference. A “diet” steak, if you will
$16.99

A 10 oz. piece of battered haddock served with a lemon wedge. A North Country staple
$14.99
Broiled Haddock
A 10 oz. piece of haddock broiled in white wine and olive oil and finished with garlic butter
$14.99
Chicken Carbonara
Chicken, bacon, onions, peppers, and fresh garlic sautéed together with penne pasta and finished in a Parmesan cream sauce. Served with garlic toast instead of vegetable
$15.99
Bacon And Tomato Pasta
Bacon, tomatoes, onions, red pepper flakes, and pesto sautéed with penne pasta and red wine and finished with parmesan cheese and basil chiffonade. Served with garlic toast instead of vegetable
$15.99
Mashed Potato Bowl
Chicken tenders, corn, and gravy piled high on a bed of mashed potatoes. Can’t go wrong here, can you?
$12.99
Desserts
Cheesecake Du Jour
Seasonal cheesecake. Ask your server for the current selection. If they don’t know it, beat them immediately
$6.49
Cookies And Milk
If Chef Thomas Keller can do it, we can too. Two large, warm chocolate chip cookies and a glass of cold milk. Sometimes that’s all you want
$4.99
Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake
A light cream cake with cranberries, blueberries, and cinnamon streusel baked in, then filled with a lemon mascarpone cream. Sounds complicated, but it’s pretty damn good
$5.99

Also known as 7 layer cookie bars…warmed up, then topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce
$5.99

My fiancé & I came here for date night. Came from 30 minutes away because we’ve heard such good things about this place. It was 100% worth it. The service is seriously fantastic. Hannah was our waitress, so so kind. I’m not sure who sat us, but she was also very kind. Food was delicious. 1,000% recommend the Mac n cheese!! Our burgers were delish! Definitely coming back & making sure to bring other people!

We reserved this place for a formal dinner with a party of 60 people. Decent prices 45$ per person for appetizers and dinner.

Amazing food, and an even better atmosphere! We drive 30 minutes out of our way just to come to Timber Tavern! Waitstaff is always friendly, and specials are always different. I recommend the apple jack burger! Hands down the best restaurant in the north country!

Stopped in for lunch while visiting family in Potsdam. Food was awesome, however Brittany our server was AMAZING!! She was working alone, had an 8 top, 7 top table and 5 other tables between the bar and dining room with 2-4 people and she didn’t miss a beat!! As a business owner for over 20 years, whatever you are paying her is definitely not enough, especially in this economy. Someone who is that dedicated, hops in the kitchen to pick up the slack because the other cook wasn’t in and can STILL handle those tables. I hope you know the gem you have there. Very impressive. Lucky I’m not in the restaurant business or I would have offered her a job on the spot! P.S. Love the descriptions of your menu items

Great food, great service! The menu is the best entertainment: read the whole thing, you won’t regret it! The fish fry is spectacular and burgers are fresh and delicious!

Visited on a Saturday night. The parking area is very poorly lit at night. Hard to tell you are even at a restaurant. Servers were young and didn’t seem to know what to be doing… service was pretty slow and it was confusing about how to get a table. We just stood awkwardly around being ignored but eventually got help by asking if we should seat ourselves. Menu featured some interesting jokes but I think the author could do with some editing. “Brevity is the soul of wit.”

Fantastic meal. I had the hamburg with apple and maple syrup. Sounds strange, but it was fabulous! Service was fantastic. A gem slightly outside of Potsdam.

My “The Cowboy” burger was good, juicy & seasoned well, served with fries. Their cobb salad was good, too, and you can substitute grilled chicken with steak. The staff was friendly.
