This place is like a “Cheers” of Lexington! Everybody seems to know each other and everybody is friendly. Service was excellent and food was spot on! Smitty melt was great, onion rings even better and the banana pudding was the best!! Definitely a neat local pub!! Cheers!

My dad and I ate at Thoroughbred Restaurant for the second time ever and just like the first visit, it did not disappoint. The Smitty’s Meatloaf and the fried Grouper were excellent. I told my dad that it might’ve been the best fish dinner I’ve ever had. The sides were good but that Jambalaya is really tasty.

I’m not gonna lie, when my husband and I pulled up and saw the outside of this place, we were a little concerned. LOL! But thank the Lord we followed through and went in because it was the best “home cooked” style meal I think we have ever had. Hours later we were still talking about it. YOU MUST GO!!!!! So many options and unbelievable food!!!!! My husband got the fried grouper with baked beans and jambalaya. I ordered the creole shrimp jambalaya with a baked potato. There are no words to describe how good both of our meals were. I will never come to Lexington and not go to The Thoroughbred.

Y’all….this place right here tho This place is all sorts and kinda Awesome!! The food is Great, however the SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE is AMAZING!! It was our first time visiting this restaurant and we really didn’t know what to expect. We went in with an open mind,not knowing what we was going to get. We was completely blown away. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. There was a lil bit of a wait,but not long. Either was it was well worth it. The sweet Tea is great as well. This is a MUST try.

TAKE OUT ORDER. Reminded me of Cheers. Very nice local pub. Customers at the bar friendly and engaging. Decent prices on food and drinks. Order the veggie plate. Cornbread alone, that comes with it, worth it. Green beans were good, lima beans were very basic with little seasoning. Skip the fired taters (I was thinking home fries and was disappointed). The coleslaw is mayo based with a hint of vinegar, was tasty. The cheeseburger w/ egg was large enough to share. Fries are ala carte.

Thoroughbred always hits it out of the park. The dinner menu is hand written on a board at rear. The menu varies from time to time an there is something for everyone. I had the shrimp jambalaya tonight, an had plenty of plump juicy shrimp, an the seasoning was spot on!
