I will start by saying that I really wanted to like and support The Yale Press as I grew up in a family-owned bakery and coffee shop. It is convenient to use the Joe app to place orders and their coffee is not bad, but not really anything that stands out. However, I can only give two stars due to the prices, quality and quantity of food here and I am tempted to just give one. The first time I ordered a breakfast burrito and a dirty chai here I was taken aback by the price and how tiny the burrito was. I had to eat the lunch I packed an hour later because I was still so hungry. I paid about $18 with a tip since salsa and sour cream are surcharged. I didn’t plan on coming back after this experience. However, I was in a hurry today and thought I might as well give it another shot. I took a picture with my hand above the box for scale (and my hands aren’t huge) to show just what I got. I don’t usually finish breakfast burritos at a lot of places because of their size but I could have easily eaten 3 of these (if I could afford them). The bite-sized burrito with hardened eggs in the middle (no salsa and sour cream this time) and 16oz oat milk latte was $15.67 including a 15% tip and $1.00 “service fee”. For someone who just wants a quick breakfast before a day of work this is shameful and a total rip-off. Sure, it’s cute inside and the coffee is better than some roadside stands or gas stations, but for this price in Stevens County the food should be fresh and enough to fill a relatively small person for breakfast. Maybe this pricing is on par with Seattle, but hard-working locals here need something good, filling and affordable.

This place is so cute and cozy. Some of the best drinks and a very wide variety. The breakfast burritos are to die for along with the scones. The give shop is so cute! Definitely recommend this cute place!

This place is phenomenal!! Not only is it such a beautiful location but they make one heck of a chai. I’m very excited to continue coming back to work and meet clients.

Good drinks and pastries. The staff tends to be very nice, and it’s a very cool environment. Coming from Seattle, I missed the coffee shop atmosphere and this is the perfect little place in a small town.
