We were looking for a nice place to eat when we came up to the Great Barrington/Lee area of Mass. from Southern Connecticut and using Google maps for restaurant recommendations this place stood out. My Wife and I decided to give The Well a try as the reviews were very good and the menu had the type of food that we like when eating out. It’s a very small place with a good size bar and about 6 tables and 4 booth seats. Of course you can eat at the bar too. The service was very good and the wait staff were very friendly and new the menu well. Our food was out with in 20 minutes of ordering and it was smoking hot. I had the Philly Steak and Cheese Hero and my Wife had Popcorn Shrimp. Both were delicious. Like I said it is a bit small but the old brick and stone walls gave it a good appearance and felt like it was more intimate than some huge restaurant. Definitely worth trying out if you are in the area. If I had to classify the restaurant I would say it’s American food.

Fantastic food! We tried the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, meatloaf, and chicken parm and they were all great! Service is very fast and friendly. Ambiance is quite nice. Cocktail and beer list is subpar.

A friend and I came in for something to go before we played the Mahaiwe Theatre. I got the salmon and being from the Northwest I didn’t have any expectations. But this place knocked it out of the park! The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned – not overcooked and dry like it’s so easy to do (esp if you’re busy). And they were busy with the pre-show crowd. The staff were very kind and didn’t seem too phased to accommodate us. My pal got the burger and said it was also amazing. Don’t pass this gem by.
