We hadn’t been here in many years. They’ve expanded it a lot more. Still awesome food! My wife and daughter loved the specialty drinks! Staff is truly helpful, friendly and courteous like many of the locals on Kelley’s Island. A family friendly place. Way different experience than some places on Put-in-Bay. Visiting Kelley’s Island, Village Pump is a must go to place. A well established staple.

Food was decent and service the same. Not great either way. My son’s chicken tenders were good but I had walleye and it had the dark meat strip on it so it was very fishy. Cut that off and it would have been awesome.

Best perch dinner ever. Update, still the best Perch dinner. Trying to find something that is even remotely close is proving to be very difficult to find. So good this time I had it two times..more to come if I find something similar, but I doubt it. By the way try the key lime pie it was not bad either.

The Village Pump is a good place to eat. Popular with locals and visitors alike, The Village Pump offers a quiet reprieve from island life as well as a good variety of beer on tap. Prices are higher, but that’s to be expected. Portions are generous, so they’re a good value for the price. I ordered the well regarded Perch Tacos. My wife ordered the shrimp basket. My tacos were large, with generous servings of Lake Erie perch. This was accompanied by salsa, lettuce and a chipotle mayo that united all the ingredients. The shrimp basket my wife ordered was good and met expectations. It was standard breaded butterfly shrimp with a mound of fries. Good, but not exceptional. Overall: if you’re looking for a good, non tourist-y place to grab a draft and a sandwich, The Village Pump is for you. Prices are higher, but the portions justify it. Definitely recommend.

This is a hometown favorite for residents and visitors alike. Of course ,everyone knows about their signature ice-cream/brandy concoction (and I can attest to its miracle-producing experience), but I was even more surprised to find that they serve Windsor Canadian whiskey. I thought they stopped producing this stuff after my grandfather passed away. Never mind your fuufuu expensive bourbons, Canadian Windsor is the “real deal”! And imagine my surprise when I inquired the bartender if it was real and he replied “Ohh yeah! …that’s our house favorite.” Then I’m like “Whaaaaaaatt??? No way!” Yep, I found heaven on earth! And I made sure to celebrate my findings with a shot of what? You guessed it, another shot of Windsor! Well, that just about sealed it – my favorite bar in the world! Oh, the Perch dinner is really good and my date said that the sweet potato bites were quite tasty. And if you do make it to the island to sample some of the house fave Canadian whiskey (and I know you will based solely on this review), here’s some advice: don’t forget your car keys on the ferry. It makes for a long wait before you start your journey back home.

The Pump is just the best bar on the island. It’s a classic and it’s been a staple of Kelleys since I was a kid. The best perch you’ll ever find and it’s pretty hard to not have a good time at this place.

We loved the atmosphere here, and the fresh fish can’t be beat! I had the perch tacos and they were great! A friend had the walleye and also said it was fantastic!
