We came here for brunch and had a lovely meal! The interior is very charming and has a nice ambiance. The cocktails are whimsical and tasty, and all the food we had was very flavorful. Some dishes are a bit overpriced but overall, you get great value for your money. We’ll definitely be back!

On our first visit to downtown Chester, we had a lovely dinner at the charming Village Bistro! My fiancé and I were sat sweetheart style in an adorable spot near the front window. I loved the historical feel here, and felt like it was a more relaxed, yet elegant spot, for fine dining. We tried some dishes that were new to us, like the plum toast and roasted squash, and enjoyed some classics with a flair, like the rigatoni alla vodka. This version had Calabrian chili in it, which gave it a nice flavor without being overly spicy. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, and the whole meal had an essence of fall flavors. The grilled plums and cookies and cream pots de creme with both great for dessert. I would love to bring my mom here sometime for a special occasion, or to explore downtown Chester again, because it’s totally her vibe! We will absolutely be back.

A lovely place with charming decor and ambiance. Amazing attention to detail in every dish and cocktail served to our party of 6. Will definitely return!

We decided to try again since I hadn’t been there since they first opened and didn’t have a good experience then.

The Village Bistro has become our weekly go to spot. We love sitting at the bar, although the whole restaurant has that “attention to detail” charm. Their cocktails, especially the Tequila Mockingbird and Huckleberry Gin, have become our favorites. Their menu offers creative and delicious selections. The owners and staff are exceptional. We LOVE the Village Bistro!

This was our second visit, and happy to say we were very pleased. Cocktails are fun. The attention to detail is where they won us over. I loved the Monk fish entrée. Pressed coffee was a happy ending.

Amazing, cute little brunch spot (also open for dinner) in Chester, CT. The food was delicious: the duck Benedict and brunch burger were to die for! It’s has a fine cuisine vibe, nestled in a nice rural CT/New England village. (Take advantage of their Google offer for Sunday brunch before August 30th.) We will definitely be back!

So excited about this new addition to Chester! Me and my aunt sat at the bar for an early dinner and the bartender and hostess went ABOVE AND BEYOND with service. They were both extremely friendly and happy to offer recommendations on the menu. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and my aunt had the French Onion Soup, which were both delicious. The atmosphere was warm and cosy with interesting and fun eclectic decor – the attention to detail is there. We will definitely be back! (Also we are super excited there is a Sunday brunch :)).

Went there on a Monday night and sat at the bar. We had a lovely experience and will definitely be going back. The service was very hands on and personal and the food was definitely seasonal and delicious. The owner Chelsey, made us our cocktails and shared her story a bit and her vision has created an atmosphere with a great vibe. We didn’t love every course, but that was more personal tastes than a failure in the kitchen. It’s clear they play with the menu to keep things seasonal and creative which I personally appreciate. There are so many cookie cutter menus around us that this was a breath of fresh air. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone looking to support locally owned restaurants with passion for what they serve.
