The food was pretty good, a bit on the high side for the entrees. Service the first night was fair, night 2 was much better! Parking is not marked well, so be prepared for a little hike.

Had a fantastic dinner here while staying at Virginia Crossings and Conference Center. Our Waitress, Denaja, was kind, fast, friendly, anticipated all of our needs before vocalized and went above and beyond to make our experience great. The Caesar salad was amazing, as well as the meatloaf and the lava cake. Their option for Pinot Noir was also very good. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area. Also, Denaja deserves a raise / promotion.

On Saturday, June 10th, my girlfriend and I went to the Tavern for Happy Hour. After ordering $7 drinks and appetizers, we were shocked to see one glass of wine was for $33 alone. Our waiter, Mike R., did tell us that glass of house Riesling was not on Happy Hour however, he failed to warn us about the much higher than normal price. That seemed unprofessional and borderline deceitful. Because I have the money, I paid the bill without incident. However, my impression is that Virginia Crossings is untrustworthy.

We were there meeting colleagues before a Christmas party and our bartender Jeanette was awesome. The happy hour specials were nice also. Great atmosphere. The outside patio with fire place is a nice touch.

Visited The Tavern while at the resort for a weekend conference, and received terrible service. Operating hours were not as advertised; our group of 4 had arrived early, as we had an event to attend that night, and decided to go ahead and get our seats for the 15 minutes until opening. Our server took our drink order in decent time, but brought the incorrect order, and didn’t take our food order for another 15 minutes. Once placed, it took us over an hour to get our food, even though other patrons/groups that came in after us were served and got their orders well before we did. When asked, our server responded it was because we were such a large group (there were FOUR of us, and a group of six that had entered after us had been served and had eaten). We then asked for our orders to go so as not to miss our event; it took an additional 15 minutes before we received it, and it was incorrect and had no forks to go with it. In the meantime still more groups after us received their food, and our server checked in with the other tables, but never came back to check on ours, even though we needed drink refills . Eventually, we flagged down another server, who immediately fixed our order and refilled drinks; and after all this, our original server brought our check and had added an 18 percent service charge.
