For Father’s Day, my family and I were looking for a yummy place to enjoy and eat lunch. So many restaurants were full and had long wait times. We were driving for a while and then discovered “Taco Stand” and decided we wanted to give it a try because you could never go wrong with tacos.

Located in Costa Mesa in the Camp the anti-mall. The food offerings range from Tacos Al Pastor to Mushrooms. This trip I got tacos Al Pastor and Carne Asada. The salsa bar offers mild for gringos to Spicy for the locos. I highly recommend this place. Only downside is it’s a bit of a wait to get your food since it’s a new popular spot.

This place has fallen off already and they haven’t been open for a year yet. I’ve been coming here for lunch since the first week they opened. Everything was great and the service was fast and friendly. I work in the area so I take my lunch here once or twice a week. I’ve been waiting to write a review to the place and I’m glad I waited.

Food took 30 minutes to arrive. It initially took 15 minutes to actually put in an order with only 4 people in front of us. When I got my asada burrito, it was completely raw. I explained this to the woman working the register, but instead she lectured me on ordering my meat well done. I’ve ordered the same asada quesadilla multiple times and it has never looked like that. Once I said that, she rudely told me that I wasn’t understanding. Whatever. I won’t be returning to this location. Rude staff and all around bad service.

I went to this restaurant with very good expectations, as I usually visit the Orange location, and the food and service is really good over there. But it turned out to be really disappointing. Here are the reasons of my bad review:

I came here at the recommendation of friends. The Taco Stand did not disappoint. The food was fresh and tasty. Prices was also very reasonable.

Easy to find but parking is tough. It’s in the Camp so you know it’s hard to get a spot, however, it’s worth it! This taco spot is fast, clean and with a full salsa bar, fits the bill for an upgraded taqueria. I got chorizo egg breakfast burrito and carne asada fries. Large portions! The carne asada was perfect medium rare. My only complaint is that the burrito is pinto instead of black beans, but I get it. Black beans are not traditional or normal for this type of taco spot.

The location has no seating, and the order takes way too long for today’s restaurant level of service. The food is good but the prices are high for tacos. Do yourself a favor and order the burritos it’s a way better value for your money. Service and lack of seating drops rate to 4.

Price seemed a little steep for tacos. The meat was good, but the wait was long after we ordered.
