We went for Friday night fish fry as is customary this time of year. The fish was delicious and the potato pancakes were awesome as well. Our server was kind and made sure we were taken care of. They were packed out as it was a Friday night but we just played pool until a table was available which was enjoyable.

We went there for a Friday fish fry. Different fish species are available. What makes The Station’s fish fry unique is that you can get a sampler platter for $16 that includes cod, perch, and walleye. Additional pieces of cod are $2 each. The sampler came with potato pancakes, apple sauce, marble rye bread and coleslaw. You can have french fries in lieu of the potato pancakes, and of course tartar sauce and lemon are included. My fish was golden brown on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. Be prepared to wait; their kitchen is small and they’re very honest about the wait times (or take out times). A terrific Bloody Mary with an included beer chaser helps the wait time go faster. It was only $6.

Heard this place was amazing but the experience we had proved very different! We arrived for a 6:30 “Reservation” we waited nearly 20 minutes before being greater by our waitress! (Should have been a red flag) Once we ordered we were told there would be a wait of 45-60 minutes. We decided to give it a shot… the wait for our food was well over that! While we were waiting we watch the people who walked in after us order and eat and then the people that sat at the same table next ordered and ate while we still waited for our food to arrive!!! Meanwhile the owners Mother (intoxicated beyond belief) kept serving the “regular” customers and didn’t care that others waited for forever to be fed. Finally the food arrived and it was pretty average to most of our group. My potato pancakes were way over cooked and my fish was super fishy tasting. (Not impressed).

We came to have a drink and play darts at 11:00 pm on a Saturday evening and the bartender said sorry we’re closing and there were plenty of people in the bar still. It seems very strange that a bar would close at 11:00 p.m. on a Saturday night with more than nine people in the bar.
