We stumbled upon The Stables by accident when another restaurant we were going to weren’t serving catfish. We were very happy to discover it because we had a great meal. We both ordered the catfish with fries and the fish and fries were cooked perfectly. The fish had the right amount of crunch while the fries were hot and crispy. The hush puppies and slaw were good too. The service was great and we liked the atmosphere. We couldn’t believe we had been in Tupelo for nearly 3 years and hadn’t been to this hidden gem. We will definitely be back to try their burgers and chicken fingers if we can keep from ordering the fish. Give The Stables a shot if you haven’t already.

We rode our bikes through town and stopped in for a beer and figure out where we were going next. The server was amazing, overheard what was going on and offered great suggestions. Check in often and food was great. We ate both inside and out, both were awesome and the locals friendly. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

The food is the very best of the best. Today, I had a cheeseburger with everything…and I mean everything. Cheddar, pepperjack, pickles, green peppers & onions, bacon, and a well-seasoned beef patty on a toasted bun with butter. Come on now! And a side of the BEST fries in town (hands down). As always, I had to carry half of my burger home.

I don’t usually order salmon at a restaurant because I have never had a good salmon. I changed my mind about the salmon after I had salmon salad at Stables and it becomes my favorite meal at Stables. A+ lunch spot. A cool refuge to refuel. My group had the burger, the patty melt, blackened catfish po-boy and the blackened catfish nachos. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The po-boy was the best I’ve ever had. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful.

Did a Google search on restaurants and this one had a TON of 5 star reviews and just a few bad ones. Checked out the online menu and my husband and I decided to check it out. Once we finally found it we walked in and were greeted by 3 different people. Went to the nearest table and found that it was filthy. We wiped as best we could and the waitress came over and used a towel to clean it thankfully. She took our drink order and handed each of us a laminated 8″ long menu. My husband and I looked at each other and were like ” you mean this is it?” I felt like we were in the movie My Cousin Vinny, the menu had maybe 15 items on it. We opted for the pastrami and swiss sandwiches. The menu didn’t mention sides or anything. Once the food arrived we saw that it came with fries. The seasoning was odd…..the sandwiches were hot, BUT had more mayo, mustard and GIANT pieces of onion than it did pastrami. We took that first bite and almost pulled the entire slice of meat out. It was ok. That’s about it. I don’t know what happened, but those sandwiches were definitely NOT 5 stars. Maybe the chef was off that day or was having an off day? I don’t know. Probably won’t be back.
