First time visiting today with my husband. We only live down the road and see this place all of the time driving by. So glad we did! The fried chicken sandwich was delicious hushpuppies were tasty and not too stodgy. Will definitely be back to try some other things! Supporting small businesses

This place is so good! I split the giant shrimp poboy with my wife. It was so much food and had the perfect ratio of shrimp to veggies to bread. The owner was super welcoming and even brought us out a couple of delicious things to sample. We will definitely be back.

First time going. Ordered $100 worth of food because I wanted to try many things (me being from South Louisiana). All was delicious, only ding is the soda wasn’t great. But that’s it! Will definitely come back! Been looking for some good food like back home! Bon Appetit!!

We drove down from Aubrey to try this place based upon a recommendation of a friend. He was right! My hubby and I split the Fat Cajun Trap. Best fried oysters I have had in years! The shrimp and catfish were so yummy! And you gotta try the dirty rice… Ooh and did I mention the fried mushrooms? Getting hungry again just thinking about it. I don’t care where you live; The South is worth the drive!

Growing up in Southern Louisiana, I was excited to try The South southern kitchen. My fiance and I tried almost everything on the menu. The boudin balls were delicious yet spicy with light breading. The gumbo was authentic southern Louisiana gumbo but was not spicy. The red beans and rice were tasty but needed more of a kick. The cornbread was also authentic southern cornbread. The shrimp poboy was filled with juicy shrimp lightly breaded in an amazing blend of spices. The margaritas were very good but not potent at all. The bar was small but seemed to be stocked well. The establishment was clean and tidy. The staff was friendly and gracious. Crawfish was brought out to us that we didn’t order, and I immediately dove in because I love crawfish. It was very spicy and burned my throat, but that’s how it is supposed to be. Everything was fresh and tasty, and I can’t wait to see how far The South restaurant goes.

Tried this place for Friday lunch, and the food and service were great! Crawfish were a good size and flavorful, po-boys had delicious bread and fried seafood, and the meat pie was divine. Several kid friendly options too. They just opened so check their Facebook page for the latest hours.

Very Good food and service , I’m pretty sure they’ll be needing a bigger place sooner or later to accommodate all the folks that are loving this place . Food is delicious, and staff are super nice !! Hands down best catfish and red beans and rice I’ve had in a very long time , Boudin ball , and chicken sandwich are amazing as well .. can’t wait to go back and eat something else on the menu .. haven’t tried the drinks yet but they look tasty as well .. It’s a much try ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
