Iowa Wandering
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel with my wife. The room was clean, and good sized. The noise level was great I could not hear my neighbors which was nice. The breakfast in the morning was nice. The Silent Woman lounge had great food I recommend the pizza. The staff was great on local information and stuff to do or see. Paul at the bait shop was a great source for fishing info and where to try your best luck on catching something.

We went there to celebrate the anniversary of our wedding engagement. We hadn’t been there in awhile because they closed for a couple years. We were glad to hear that they had re-opened because this is one of our favorite places. The new ownership hasn’t changed the ambience of the interior decor — it’s just like we remember it. We had Rachael as our waitress and she did an outstanding job; she was very attentive to our needs. The menu wasn’t as elaborate as we remembered it being the last time we were there, but we knew that they were just getting things up and running so it’s probably best to keep it simple at this point. The food was excellent. We ordered appetizers, entrees, and we split a dessert. We will definitely go back again. Good luck to the new owners of this place in their new endeavor and to anyone who hasn’t been to this restaurant … give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

For a small town this restaurant is beautiful.The decor is outstanding and the food excellent. It was nice to be brought a craft of water instead of having to ask for more water. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Perfect place if you need a night out away from the kids or bring friends and family for a relaxing time.

This place is amazing inside! The hotel rooms are beautiful and the dining and bar areas have many interesting features to look at and explore. Wish it was open full time again. The current owner has made this place a one of a kind experience.

My husband and I went on a much needed weekend getaway and we stayed at Fenway House. We were not disappointed! The rooms were nice, the food was God and reasonably priced, and the staff was great! I will recommend this to many friends.

Ok So now that I had a chance to Calm down I wanted to share our Horrible Experience we had at the Silent Woman tonight (Valentine’s Day). We have been wanting to experience the Silent Woman since it reopened and I thought it would be a good Ideal to do this tonight. I called and made Reservations. I arrived on time and waited for a good 20 Minutes to talk with a Hostess. When she asked about what time we had Reservations I told her the time and she seemed surprised that I was that late. (Note: She was helping another customer for the 20 minutes figure out his bill in the same lobby I was in) I told her no that I have been waiting for 20 minutes. She made the comment to us and several other guests waiting to be seated that “They are Super Busy” (Note: I have worked in the Rest. Business and for being “Super Busy” there was a lot of open and unseated table) She walked us past all the other open tables and took us to a back room. We then sat for the next 5 Minutes with no one coming over to help us. There was another table sat in this room who also said they have been waiting for awhile to be served. As we decided to leave and go elsewhere, a server comes walking in and asked if anyone has helped us and no one to her there was people back here. We still opted to leave. On our way out we noticed another couple who had reservations 15 minutes after us still waiting to be sat. I hope that they didn’t have the crappy service we had. I for one would say to anyone thinking about going here to eat… Think Twice. It was a Waste of our time & Money & Valentine’s Day Dinner was ruined because they could not handle a few tables at dinnertime.
