Excellent BBQ y’all! Hubs got the pulled plate with fries and beans. VERY GOOD! I got the Shack Philly. It’s a Philly cheesesteak with brisket. Excellent. (You won’t need mayo, the meat is NOT dry.) We were told they plan to move to the old Shoney’s one exit north, so just be aware. I’m not sure when that will happen. Also, can we talk about the cute tiny ketchup bottle??

We were on a long way back from a coastal vacation when we took a chance to eat lunch at The Shack rather than a local fast-food place. The menu is quite extensive, but we both had a different specialty hamburgers. Really, really good, like home cooked, large patties on a very nice bun . . . not typical fast food. Great selection of sides, too. The prices are reasonable and the service couldn’t have been better with an attentive waitress and promptly prepared, hot and tasty food. Worth seeking out next time we’re headed this way.

Cool atmosphere, good food and good service. My husband had the sasquatch burger… the burger was cooked perfectly and was very good but really could have used a little more brisket and definitely more sauce. I had the fried green tomato BLT which was excellent after I added mayo to it. The sweet potato fries and onion rings were both delicious. The baked beans were okay – a little too sweet in our opinion and they were advertised as having conecuh sausage in them but we neither one had any in ours. Still, overall a very good meal and we even finished it off with some blueberry bread pudding.

I got the full rack of baby back ribs with cheese grits and onion rings. The ribs were tender and juicy. The dry rub was very good, with a little sweetness. The ribs were good on their own, without sauce, which is always a great sign! The sauce was a nice addition without being necessary.
