Food was decent. But it took us 20 minutes before a server came for us to even order drinks. It wasn’t busy that morning, and we watched as two servers totally ignored our table on the way back inside. Staff isn’t very friendly or welcoming either. Food is decent but honestly not worth writing home about.

Usually, the food is fantastic, but this time something was a little off. Picture of the lamb chops prepared “medium – rare”, had to ask to cook it more because it was way too raw.

I almost didn’t go because of some of the past reviews of the place, but I’m glad I did. Went here for Sunday brunch. Food and service were excellent. We made an enormous amount of special requests and substitutions for our food and drinks but our server handled it like a pro with no mistakes. Service was prompt and attentive. Food came out quickly. With the price and quality of everything, this should be one of the more popular spots in Rochester for brunch, and I hope this place gets more business in the future. I’ll definitely be back for mango and grapefruit mimosas, French press coffee, and stellar omelets.

When me and my partner went with my son the first time, had no problems what so ever. However this time, extremely long wait for a table, and people got seated before us that arrived after us, and there were tables available when we arrived. Extremely long wait for our meal, and when it arrived, while it tasted good, the berry compote was over cooked, the lemon curd was not a true lemon curd (curd is more like a custard in consistency), and instead was lemon and powdered sugar mixed together. The pancakes were super flat and not fluffy. Took extremely long for us to get drink refills. Honestly, even though they did discount the meal (we did not ask for this), we will not be going back. Super disappointed that our two times going there were so night and day in comparison.

Had a thoroughly disappointing experience at the Sawmill today. When we arrived, there wasn’t a hostess at the door. It was busy, not a big deal, but we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to greet us after arrival. Once seated, we realized they had recently changed their weekend menu – there are no longer any lunch options available on the weekend, only breakfast, which was a bit disappointing to realize on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the closest thing to a lunch option we could get. 10 minutes after ordering, our waitress informs us that they are actually out of the item we ordered and we need to change our order (but we could only change one order, since the other item we ordered was already being prepared – this matters because we pick dishes that compliment each other to share, and would have changed our order entirely had we known they were out of what we originally wanted). When our food finally comes out, it’s cold. After we asked for the check, it took another 10 minutes to get it. Not once did our waitress check on us to ask how our experience was going or if we needed anything. Any one of these things on their own is not a big deal, but all of them together led to an incredibly disappointing experience. We will not be going back.

Waited 20min to be seated which was fine but then waited an additional hour to have no server ever take our order. Ended up leaving after the hour because we were hungry and wanted to go somewhere that would actually feed us in a timely fashion.

Measure of a business is how they handle mistakes. They “lost” our reservation for 12. Seated us at 3 separate tables which we combined to 2. We got no beverages for 45 minutes and no water for anyone until the food was served. We arrived at 145 and food came at 245 with the restaurant closing at 3. We were rushed. Customer service is nonexistent since they get 18% gratuity on 6 or more. Waitress was curt and dismissive. Many items were not available. If you can’t handle the volume then close for the day. Zero stars and no one from our party will ever be going back.

The food was generally tasty. There was a miscommunication between the server and me regarding vegan options. I asked if 2 items were vegan. Only 1 was. I had to take the feta and pesto aff the Mediterranean grain bowl. Oh. Well.

Very disappointed that they do not have any kind of liquor available. Took my brother from out of town there for lunch and menu was very light. None of the items in the photograph of the menu provided by previous people were available. When we finished our meal, I asked for dessert and they did not have any to offer. Even with just only maybe five tables having customers it was very noisy in there. The service was fair. When I ordered the Limone dish the waitress asked what kind of pasta I wanted. She said spaghetti, penne, etc. I said I’ll take the penne. After she went to put the order in she came back and said what kind of protein do you want chicken? steak? I said I’ll take the steak. You would think that she would know on such a small menu that she needs to ask what type of meat you want instead of having to go to the kitchen and come back because she didn’t ask. Then when the dish came out it was on spaghetti. At that point I just kept my mouth shut cuz it’s not worth my stress. So although she was a very friendly waitress, the service was not very good. And I was kind of disappointed at the portion of the dish for that price point. It’s pasta. it’s not a super expensive dish to create. It literally had four very small slices of steak on top. My brother ordered a Caesar salad, I believe, and he commented that he had to stab the chicken and croutons with his fork to tell which was croutons and which was chicken…..

Enjoyed our date there! Waitress was super friendly, very helpful! Really enjoyed the sawmill theme! All the old decor on premise! Food was very good, wouldn’t mind bigger portions ☺️. We’ll come back again!
