Was very disappointed. Seated in the back corner like baby on dirty dancing. It was so loud in the back room. I asked the waitress about the fish and what she explained was fresh, beer battered cod. When it came out, it was triangle shaped pieces out a frozen box. The coleslaw was inedible and the $6 up charge for the garlic fries was ridiculous. It was only $2 up charge on other dinners for the same fries. My fries were green by the way. Wife got the Mediterranean salad and added chicken for a $4 dollar up charge. It was literally 4 dice sized pieces of chicken cut in half so she got 8 halves. Halfway through our meal a couple sat at a lower table and the same waitress told them of a sirloin special. Sure wish she would have informed us of this. I was going to have the Philly sandwich, but something tells me it would have been grosser then the fish. It’s definitely a dive, only a local hole that no one knows any better outside of the town on better eats. Glad we were just passing through. We will never be back.

Came here for dinner and there was a table of about 16 in the middle of the back room. They seated us up against the wall in the very back. It was so loud I thought I was at a 70’s rock concert man. I had to holler across the table to my friend to talk to her. They came and brought us water and the waitress kinda fumbled and didn’t take our order. She waited on the big table then 10 minutes later she took our order. Our order went in after theirs and it’s been 45 minutes now and we still have not gotten a refill or our food. It’s a Saturday night so I kinda get it but the worst part of the whole experience is we are non smokers and all we sell is smoke. Not sure where it’s coming from, but it’s horrible. She wants to leave and I said let’s just wait it out. We will never stop back in here again. I hope you have better luck then we did.

If you’d have told me, I’d find the best pizza in the Rusty Moose, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But their pizza is insanely good. All made in-house and served with a smile by amazing wait staff. I highly recommend them over any other pizza place in the panhandle.

Their dessert and service is awful. I ordered the Huckleberry Cheesecake and just found out Jill makes it from the Rusty Moose. We were at Goat Mountain. It was dry and clumpy and they wouldn’t take it off the bill. We even offered to buy another beer or appetizer to offset the price then. You know, get something I’d actually eat there and they still get the same amount of money of more from the cheescake. We just planned to have a beer and leave. I was the only one who wanted something to quick to eat.

I’ve been to quite a few places to eat and/or just stop in for an alcoholic drink. This place is something else indeed. After walking in and sitting down, I’m assuming he’s the owner based on other reviews, he started to bring us a few menus. I was trying to be nice and save him the trip over and said, “we won’t need menus we’re just having drinks, thank you though”. I ordered two draft beers, this gentlemen had one glass in each hand while standing behind the bar next to the beer taps. He coughed…not a quick cough, one of those deep you shouldn’t be around people coughs…again his hands were full of beer glasses, this individual did not cover his mouth, aim for his shirt or shoulder, the direction of his cough was aimed at all the beer taps. The second cough was also aimed in the same direction, except this time our beer glasses were being held higher as he coughed. Not sure about others, but I prefer my beer to be cough-free. I was ready to leave after watching what had just happened, gets better though. This person brings our beer to our table with what we considered a “negative energy”. This person looks me dead in the eyes and says, “this will be the last time I bring you beer, if you want more, come to the bar and get it yourself”. I was in a bit of a shock to hear that, first time for everything. I left a $5 dollar bill for the two beers even though we never touched the beers. We walked out and began heading back to where we came from. I turned back around and there was a lady, assuming the other owner from the reviews, she was watching us while leaning against the building, arms crossed and had a confused/negative look on her face. I wanted to explain why we left so I called the bar to explain what had happened. I ended up talking to a waitress that seemed nice and understood. We’ve had food from this place before this excitement happened. Other reviews rave about the food, the food I remember wasn’t that great, it’s okay. This review is meant to make others aware of the type of situation you might be walking into. Hopefully it’s not the same for others. Based on older reviews, sounds on point and what to expect from this place. Can’t say that we’ll return to this establishment, there are other small businesses to support in the area that quite frankly deserve the business more.

We are just traveling through town and stopped here. The bartender was very nice and it seems like a family-owned bar since the 1940s. He said that location has been a bar for 122 years. Apparently the big secret of the bar is a wine cellar in the basement and if you ask the bartender about it he may let in on the secret.

Traveling thru Bonner Springs, ID we stopped for a bite. I checked restaurant reviews and chose this restaurant. Great choice. The wraps and smokehouse burger were delicious. The highlight were the onion rings which my brother said were the best he’s ever had. The ambience was very good too- just like an old western tavern updated. Definitely should consider
