As a vegan, it can be challenging to find options in the area. The Russell nailed it! We had the vegan empanadas, 2 vegan burgers, and a vegan chicken sandwich option. The flavors were amazing and everything is made super fresh! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about their vegan options. We ate at one of their outdoor tables and they came to make sure we had a great experience. We will be back and I highly urge everyone (vegan or not) to check this place out. They have something for everyone and truly capture the Caribbean with their service and unbelievable homemade dishes!

First time there, and it won’t be the last. Place was clean, parking in front, and was greeted immediately by a friendly man who turned out to be the owner. The food was fresh and prepared on the spot. He gave us samples and told us a little bit about the business. It’s a place that everyone should come and experience and also taste the food. Wish one was closer in Massachusetts.

Ive had nothing but fantastic experiences when visiting the grab and go Russell. Extremely friendly service when you arrive (unlike interactions in most Jamaican establishments sadly) The menu has a ton to offer and the service is quick.

Just ate at the Russell grab and go on New Britain ave in Hartford and it was amazing, my gf and I tried almost everything vegan they had to offer! It was all full of Caribbean flavor, we will definitely be back for more!

Finally getting a chance to try the grab and go meals now that they’re in my area. It’s hard to find good quality Jamaican cuisine on the south end of Hartford however the food was pretty good. Although the chicken was a little fresh and didn’t have much seasoning, the rice, plantains and oxtail gravy made it all come together. I do wish they offered smaller portion sizes instead of only medium and large but overall I was pleased with my meal and I will definitely try them again!

I bought a curry goat dinner and had a ton of rice with 1/4 cup of curry goat that was mostly bone with fat on it. No meat. Never again! Not the best tasting either…. Portions suck. Plenty of rice though

I normally have a positive experience in this establishment. Today was different. I walked in happy that it wasn’t crowded and I knew that I would be in and out. The lady behind the counter asked if I had called in my order. I replied no. She then finished helping her first customer as I waited. Meanwhile, another customer entered and she asked him the same. His reply was yes. After finishing up with her first customer, she proceeded to help the customer that arrived after me. I normally don’t have a problem waiting, but she never even acknowledged that she needed to take care of the person who arrived well after me. That is simple common courtesy. Why are the walk-ins pushed aside from the people calling in orders? When I couldn’t wait any longer and told her I would try and return later, she dismissively waved me away. I have frequented every one of their establishments. I guess my business is not of importance to them. At least today it wasn’t.

The Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak is BANGIN’..Will Definitely get this again. Ordered a Fried Chicken meal and the Cabbage is Extremely under cooked and w/o any Seasoning. The RnP’s were over cooked but the Fried Chicken is seasoned well and fried thoroughly so that’s a Plus!! Ordered this today..

I’ve had numerous options from the menu . All are delicious. The oxtail are always tender & flavorful, the calaloo rice is a great twist, I love the fried whiting, all the authentic dishes are nice. There’s a new addition to the menu the oxtail cheesesteak, its a must try!! The customer service is impeccable and they offer this lemonade from a company named Mother’s Moss, it pairs greatly with any meal.
