The Restaurant at Hill Farm is a celebration of this time and place in Southern Vermont. The newly opened restaurant is located on the historic Hill Farm property accompanying an inn and vegetable farm. Dinner is served in a lofted barn with sweeping mountain views and an open kitchen centered around the wood-fired oven. Menus by Chef Austin Poulin are inspired by what is coming out of the ground at Hill Farm and from our surrounding food community. A curated artisanal beverage menu highlights New England producers and growers who care for the land.

The ambiance in the newly-renovated space was stellar and the chefs were very engaging, talking us through the various locally-sourced ingredients for each dish. The Extraordinary Dining Experience! The Grange at Hill Farm is fine dining at its best. The staff are very warm, welcoming and attentive. Our meals were fresh made, innovative and beautifully presented. The wine list has very fine choices. It is rare to have such a wonderful dinner experience with meals so well prepared. The noise level was loud until some of tables started to clear.

Incredible dinner(s)! We visited Hill Farm during their opening weekend and ended up eating at the restaurant twice instead of venturing to town due to the absolutely delicious food! Another aspect which we enjoyed is the variation between the two dinners on back to back nights. Each menu was carefully crafted, using unique and fresh ingredients grown right on the farm’s property and we were blown away with two very different meals. Great selection of wine as well.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal last night at the Grange. Luckily, we sat at the chef’s table and were able to watch the amazing chefs prepare meals. (The kitchen is spotlessly clean) The food is fresh, unique, and delicious. The drinks are innovative and the service is great. The building and the view are gorgeous. If you are in this area, you MUST have dinner at the Grange!!!!

We really enjoyed the tasting menu at The Restaurant at Hill Farm during our stay at Hill Farm. This is farm to table at its finest. And we really enjoyed Chef Austin’s use of open fire cooking. The burnt baba was sooo yummy! They also easily accommodated a vegetarian in our group with the most delicious cauliflower steak. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or staying on property

Stayed here on the opening wknd and it was amazing! Views of mountain and valleys were gorgeous and food was so fresh and delicious. Very cozy and welcoming vibe with fire places, delicious breakfast, garden tour, wine tasting, and a dinner from the garden to top it off! If you are looking for an escape from the city and to relax, I would highly recommend!

Watching Chef Austin and his team smile and joke with each other as we were seated at the chef’s counter, as requested, set the mood for a wonderful evening. They said hello, asked us our names and chatted with us throughout the evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and welcoming, the staff all well trained and accommodating. Being a special evening we ordered way more food than necessary, and ate every bite. We began the meal with the house made Sourdough Pita Bread, cooked to order in the wood fired oven and served with an exceptionally smooth hummus. The assortment of pickled vegetables that accompany many of the dishes supply a welcoming contrast of flavor and texture. Favorite dishes of the evening included the Short Rib with Burnt Babagsnoush and grilled cherries, a perfectly cooked fillet of sea bass served on a sauce of asparagus and peas with tiny bursts of preserved lemon, and a melt in your mouth Ribeye. To end the meal my companions enjoyed the Smoked Yogurt with Strawberry Rhubarb Granita and the Tahini Ice Cream. It was so much more than just a good meal. Our group of three could not have asked for a better experience.

Dinner was outstanding. Every dish was delicious with such amazing flavors and the freshest ingredients. The service was excellent. We sat on the deck outside and watched the sun set over the hills, and the views were so beautiful. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
