The Red Frog has a name and 40+ year history like no other bar in Cedar Rapids, as we took over ownership we have heard many stories of the upbringing of this beautiful bar. We learned the family ties from when Al first opened it, we learned about the family disputes, we learned of the changes when it was converted into a Pub and Eatery, then later when it joined forces with Lucky’s next door and became Dirty Shirleys, and lastly when it became The good ole’ Red Frog again. There’s no doubt that this bar is loved by the community and our only goal is getting The Red Frog back to being the best it can be.

I haven’t been here in forever but I am so glad we stopped. My friend was in town late one night and I still owed her a birthday drink. This was the ONLY place still serving food that we could find. I used to love the taco pizza here (they no longer carry Pizza ) but the new menu is also really good. I got the Frog Hand Held Grilled Chicken Sandwich (Build your own) w/ Coleslaw & my friend got the Patt Melt w fries and a Rumchata. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly. My friend declared this place her new favorite! (My meal is the one pictured).

I posted about my first time here and this is the 8th… still delicious- seriously, the food is phenomenal! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere with the bar full or empty has been great every time!!! (We were so excited to start eating I forgot to take pictures first)

Second time ordering: The wings were alright ! But the Reuben rolls are absolutely amazing !!! I love the frog sauce!! I’m a picky eater but I’m SO glad I chose those. Too bad I only got six ! I wish I ordered more ! Yummy !!! Def will be ordering those again for sure !

Our bartender was great! Good energy. Clean bathrooms. Food was also good. The bar had slots, which is great, but you aren’t allowed to cash in your winnings and you have to spend them at the bar. Not ideal. Still recommend.
