Went to The Pondy Restaurant & Bar last night and had an awesome experience and meal! The chips and guacamole were great for a starter, and the halibut sandwich and shrimp were amazing! The fresh dill on my halibut really kicked up the flavor experience. There was live music on the patio and the place was packed inside and out. We’re grateful to have a small hometown family working their tails off to provide a fantastic supper club experience when so many of these restaurants have closed and left us wanting for a place just like this. The prime rib was tough, I spit out most of it. Wasn’t willing to wait, they had no staff. Boyfriends meal was tasteless. Chicken sandwich. I grew up here, had better expectations. Sad the owner would defend this because his son was the cook. Yes, I contacted them. Because of these responses, I won’t be back again. A better attitude would have had me try again.

Food was good. Tables were clean but sticky. Service was extremely slow for 2 burgers, took almost a half hour and they weren’t even busy. Another 15 minutes to walk up to the bar and pay our bill, they never brought it to our table..Our server was more concerned about the bar than helping/waiting on our table. Good food, lousy service. Probably not coming back again.

There were 6 people in our party, put in our orders. Over 90 minutes 2 entrees were brought out. Three appetizers brought out with 10 to 15 minutes between each order, AFTER 2 of the 5 entrees were served. Our waitress asked if we needed to-go boxes and we told her 4 of our orders have not been served. I asked waitress about a possible comp., and we were told “well we didnt charge you for the food we didnt get”. Waitress talked to Devra. She did not come to our table. I talked to Steve and he made every excuse. This is very unacceptable, very unproffessional and the worst customer service we have experienced. Shame on both of you!!

I was reluctant to order the Oscar style filet but the waitress talked me into it and I was so happy she did! Wow, the flavor, tenderness and presentation were all perfect. The waitress was friendly, accommodating and prompt, the owner even checked in as well. Overall great atmosphere and nice little scenic drive outside of Rochester. Will definitely be back!
