My only complaint is that my stomach was not large enough for all the delicious food! My friend and I ordered several dim sum and 2 entrees. The standouts for me were the duck egg rolls, the shrimp rice cakes and the pork and chive dumplings! The flank steak entree was so flavorful and tender. I can’t wait to go back to try more! The drinks were innovative and different. Our server, Lily, was kind, knowledgeable and very attentive! I thought the pricing was sufficient for the quality and amount of food we received! Highly recommend for something unique and flavorful! I starting taking photos but everything was so good I forgot to take the rest!

The freshest and most amazing dim sum I’ve ever had, hands down. I’ve been to dozens of traditional dim sum and Chinese Food restaurants throughout New York and Philly and Parlor elevates the best dishes by making them fresh and with the highest quality ingredients. Add in delicious drinks and cocktails and I’m 5-stars all day long.

Cantonese here. I would say this is a fair attempt for Cantonese food in Pittsburgh. We ordered a fair share of dim sum and main dishes. Dim sum are mostly okay. Rice roll is a pleasant surprise since it is hard to made well. Shrimp dumpling is a disaster, way too salty and the skins are too watery and you only get a little bit of minced shrimp inside. The main dishes tasted better than the dim sum. Personally I like the clay pot fish most. Overall the food is way too salty, saucy and greasy (just like the other restaurants by this chef). I also found nothing “upscale” about them. All of dishes on the menu are trying to mimic classic Cantonese dishes and I only see things that fall short but nothing done better than the classic way they are made. If you are there I would recommend the clay pot fish, flat rice noodle with beef and the rice roll. I would also recommend going to New York (or some other major cities) to get much better Cantonese food for probably a third of the price.

Another restaurant where I worried that the preceding hype wouldn’t pan out in practice- and I was happy to be proven quite wrong. My wife and I went for our anniversary, and we shared 6 dim sum plates that were all outstanding, with top highlights including the Chicken and Shitake Dumplings and the Shrimp Balls. For our main, we split the Ho Fun with flank steak, with the noodles being exactly as they should, and the steak being wonderfully cooked and surprisingly tender for the thinner cut.

My recent visit here left me with a mixed feeling. The ambiance was vibrant, but the volume of the music was a letdown, making it hard to enjoy conversations outside the bar area.

For a place with dim sum in their name, The Parlor barely does dim sum. There are about 8 dim sum options, and the portions are small and flavors not authentic. The chicken feet tasted like just bones, and I’ve had chicken feet before.

(Photos are taken from multiple visits) The first visit was kind of amazing since there is not many Dim Sum type restaurants in the greater Pittsburgh area. After that, many problems appear: staff are obviously not well trained, food is way overpriced, taste is watery. I would recommend you to try out once if you have not, but not come back for a second visit. Btw parking is extremely hard so good luck.

I was skeptical when we decided to give The Parlor a try because of the negative reviews about customer service. However, we had a great experience. The service was fine and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable.

Food was beyond exceptional. Prices are HIGH but the quality is there. Big big dishes available. We ordered 4 for the table and it easily could have fed 10 people no exaggeration. There were 3 of us, oops lol. Everything was so fire and I will def be back!

Finally got to check this place out, started with some dim sum and got a shareable to split between us. Really liked the space, we sat on the ground floor but noticed the downstairs bar right away which looked even better. The food was tasty, we wanted to try a few more things but got full on dim sum. The service was super friendly and fast. The place was very clean and had a nice chill vibe.
