Park View Diner is the kind of place that’s been around for as long as anyone can remember. It’s an institution in Dyckman, a place where generations of families have come to gather, catch up, and eat some damn good food.

Excellent food quality and service. The tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious. Staff we’re helpful and checked in regularly. Would recommend!

Some of the best gnocchi I’ve ever had! The cocktails are great. Try the espresso martini and mojito!

I don’t like to talk badly about restaurants as I work in the food service industry as a server, but I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant in recent memory. The waitress obviously did not care about her job in the slightest. She did not know the menu and after dropping off the food, did not once check in. We waited for upwards of 20 minutes to get the check while she was on her phone in the corner doing nothing but ignoring us. She had 3 tables at the time and the restaurant was dead, mind you. The food itself was very mediocre and overpriced for what it is. My order did not come as described and tasted bad. It was a grilled cheese sandwich- my favorite food- how do you mess that up? None of our food was good, to be honest. $40 for the worst service I’ve ever gotten and food that is bested by 99 cent pizza? I cannot encourage you enough to stay away from this restuarant. You will be sorely disappointed.

It took about 15 minutes for a waiter to approach our table to take our order. My mom and I both got the French Toast (mine with strawberries and bananas, hers with bananas and walnuts). My mom got a tea and I got the peach apricot iced tea. We waited about 20 minutes for our drinks to come out and then they brought our food about 10 minutes later. The French toast was burnt. Additionally, we could taste hints of ONIONS on our French toast and in our fruit as if the cook used the same griddle/pan without properly cleaning it before making our French toast and slicing our fruit with the same knife that was used to slice the onion. My iced tea was completely flavorless our waiter never came over to us to ask if we needed anything throughout our entire meal so I had to get up and get the sugar myself. In the end we had to flag down the waiter for our check after waiting for 10 minutes after finishing our meal. The place wasn’t too busy but there was only one waitress and one bartender. I would not recommend and I will not be going back.

We were very hopeful for our first visit for breakfast. The establishment keeps an old-time feel by taking only cash and inattentive service. It offers standard diner fare, albeit priced higher than other cash only establishments. The food has become bland. Of note was the corned beef hash.

Love ordering from The Park View! Hubby and I love the olive bread that they use for certain sandwiches.

Don’t go here for Sunday brunch. I won’t blame the waitress who was overwhelmed with patrons. But waiting 25 minutes for water and almost an hour for food is not good service. It’s going to be a long time before going back here and especially during brunch hours.

Every time I want to go to breakfast at 9am they seem they are not open or just about to open. Today 6/18/2023 got attitude from the working entire in and she had to knock on the door to get in and it was 9:01am. This was a great spot to get breakfast in the early years. Not so much now.
