This is a great small spot! Have been here three times so far. All of which have been a great experience. And have a nice outdoor seating view towards Mohawk ridge. It is a small establishment, so expect limited seating on peak service days. The quality of service has been consistent my times that I have been there. Love their Cajun style and their crafted drinks! Bless the Chefs and the staff!

I have been coming to Water St Market for YEARS and somehow never knew this place existed! So glad to have found it! We got the lobster roll & oysters (both specials), gumbo, and jambalaya. All were excellent. Great cocktails, friendly service, beautiful views!

If you’re in New Paltz I would definitely take a stroll down the vintage water street market and hop into The Parish, be it for drinks and/or dinner. Outdoor seating is great for fresh air, but it does get cold in the winter evenings. However, it makes for bittersweet sunsets. If you can’t stand the cold just hop inside in a dimly candlelit dining room and bar. Fair warning, once the drinks start flowing and you smell and see the food as it comes out that double door to the kitchen, you’re gonna want to snatch a menu asap.

Me and my roommates and a couple friends wanted to grab a bite to eat in new paltz but we wanted to try a spot we haven’t had before, we found this little spot right behind water street market. The spot seemed very relaxed but really nice, welcoming feeling. We got the gator bites, Cajun wings, and crab cake as sone starters and everything was absolutely delicious, the wings had a great flavor with sone heat, and the gator bites tasted like spicy chicken, the hanger steak was so good, excellent color and flavor, cake with a truffle sauce that truly made it all come together, the waitress was fantastic very helpful definitely looking forward to going back.

Tucked away upstairs on the second floor is a jewel of a restaurant. Great service, fresh delicious and well presented, reasonable prices. Cocktails were fantastic and imaginative. Not too hot, or overspiced, with options for vegans and meat eaters as well. Indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the halibut special… Perfectly cooked fish over asparagus and blackened baby potatoes topped with frizzled garlic scrapes, side of blackened string beans. Don’t miss this wonderful place for a great meal. Gator bites!… Po’ boys! Great New Orleans food!!!

Excellent small restaurant with superb New Orleans-style food, a friendly, attentive wait staff, and great view of the Shawangunk Mountains from the deck. The jambalaya with shrimp was rich and spicy – the best I’ve ever tasted. My companion’s roasted trout with pilaf was moist and savory, while our friend’s mushroom etoufee was memorably delicious. The key lime pie we tried for dessert (made in house) was positively sublime. The Parish’s bar offers a great selection of wines, beer and creative cocktails. I look forward to returning!

I love this place and every time I’m in New Paltz I’m getting my dinner there. Although I’m not big enthusiast of fried food, I really like this place, my favorite is buffalo cauliflower and fried okra. When the wheather is nice you can have your lunch or dinner outside with a great view on the Catskill Ridge.

We waited an hour….for….that?!!!???…To put it mildly the food was much more subpar than I expected. The waiter asked me 3 different times how I would like my steak cooked and it STILL came out over cooked and dry. The fried chicken was supposed to be a leg, thigh, and breast wellllll no that was a lie; two thighs and a leg with no seasoning. Also, the collard greens was mostly kale. The waiter was rude not friendly at all and for an establishment which is supposed to be New Orleans style the music playing was good but not a single jazz song came on. Music aside, the fat lady should definitely sing on this place.
