I’ve been coming here for many years and have never had a bad experience. This last visit I had a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and the cocktail sauce is so good. For my meal I had the stuffed shrimp with a baked potato and salad. The shrimp are stuffed with a crab type of filling and are breaded and fried, it comes with a total of 5 stuffed shrimp. I had not tried them before as I usually always get an order of half shrimp, half fish but wanted to try something different this time. I was not disappointed. Our server was very friendly and came back to check on us repeatedly to ask if we needed anything. The service, food, atmosphere and staff at the Oyster Bar have always been top tier, and that’s why we have been coming here for years. ♥️

Yikes! …prices are much higher than when I was here less than two years ago, and be aware that the prices shown on their online menu are NOT current. They also now charge extra for that small baked potato that used to be part of the combo meals. I still love their fried shrimp meal (11 shrimp w/ tiny salad) but it cost me $20 (with potato & taxes) for the takeout version so I’ll likely hesitate to stop by again anytime soon. Too bad… I’ve been visiting this place every time I’ve visited Brownsville for many years.

The food is great, and the wait staff was attentive. I do wish they had a drink menu. The restrooms and the restaurant were clean. I ordered the fisherman’s variety plater. It was very good I like the assortment it has.

Good but not great. Oysters small. Only two were large out of 2 dozen. Food didn’t come at the same time for our party of five. Tacos extremely small and French fries not cooked. Clam chowder was ok but 95% potatoes.

First time there, had a fried baby snapper and stuffed shrimps, both were awesome, haven’t really been to other sea food places but this one is very nice, totally worth to give it a try. Will definitely go back.

All restaurants in brownsville close by 8 or 9 not like mcallen majority of places are open late. This place was about to close 10 min to 9 and the hostes was so welcoming had no hesitation ro serve us. The server was so helpful in ordering our food since 1st time there. This plate Is so recommended!! The fish was so fresh not mushy like other places and the shrimp was . If in brownsville you must visit very recommended!! Although maybe adding rice or other sides on menu would be excellent!
