It’s a locals favorites! It’s those restaurants that either you will love or hate. I personally loved it as the sauce that they use to smoother the burrito and fries was unique. It is a bit spicy for those of you who like a little heat on your food.

Chili cheese fries are amazing, made a special trip out of my way to get them. The green chili has exceptional flavor on its own, put it on fries and add cheese? Awesomeness.

The kids wanted chili fries. So we chose to go to our favorite chili fries establishment. We bought three orders. We like to add chicharrones to them. I ordered a Mexican hamburger smothered in green. We also had to Horchata. If you never been here before. When you walk in look at the menu and go to the order here window there are 2. After you get your ticket with your number on it just wait on one of the benches or in the dining area if you’re eating in and wait for your number. If you order a Horchata or Agua Fresca. They’ll give you a cup you put as much ice as you want and take it to the window where the machine is. They’ll fill it up for you. Once they call your number you pick up your order check your food make sure everything’s there. And then you’re good to go.

Ordered the Chile cheese fries and a smothered Mexican Hamburger. They were really good, but the Chile is just too hot. I could not finish my Chile Cheese Fries and did not touch my Mexican Hamburger because my mouth was on fire. Would have given 5 stars if a different level of spice was offered.

Original chubbys, why!?!! I ordered a green and it was not the regular chile I had when I was younger. I ordered a red chile, and it was like an enchilada sauce!!! What’s going on with your burritos now, where is the original chile at? Also, the size makes a pregnant lady want to cry

Messed up orders are EXTREMELY common here. And don’t even dare ask for a refund or for them to fix it if you even step 2 inches out the door before realizing. They will fight to NO end to not refund or remake food. I’ve tried several times over the last 15 years. They will often mess up my order by using green chili which my body can’t handle when I always order red chili. Today I went in to check my order before I left and I told the lady I had RED chili fries ($16!!!) and she read the receipt that was stapled to the bag stared at it for a good 10 seconds, ripped the receipt off the bag and throws it away and hands me my food. I thought by her staring at the receipt she was verifying it had red chili and they were so busy I didn’t want to take up room verifying my order so I trusted in what she said and left only to find another messed up order with green chili that i can’t even eat. Another wasted $16. Now I know she really ripped the receipt off the bag so i couldn’t see that they clearly had green chili written on there. This economy on top of chubbys outrageous prices are to be considered before you purposely rip off your customers. Mistakes happen, I’ve disregarded yours many times over the years and continued to support your business but your employee purposely sent me out the door with the wrong item with no consideration of the fact that they literally wasted my hard earned money. Located near the heart of Denver surrounded by homeless people every single day and they are so quick to wrongfully take their customers money. Unfortunately, I could never support this business again.

After a long shift of cooking food all day, we decided to go as a team to this spot after work. We entered with so many people waiting in line to order and many others waiting to pick up their already ordered food. I was taken aback at how many people were supporting this spot, and so I was very excited to try it.

Service was rude. Chile was too hot for me, but still flavorful. This place is iconic. Food was ok. I hadn’t been here in a while. For me the food was not as good as I remembered. I just had the smothered beef and bean burrito. The place was kept very clean.

I really enjoyed the food. I’m very sad I won’t be eating here again. It’s a counter order place like any fast food. The 1 star service and atmosphere is only because I was forced to add a tip to my credit card but there is no staff tending the dining room. The credit card machine forces you to tip with the cashier staring on. I’m afraid not to tip in such situations because they just need to give a signal to the kitchen and I get extra phlegm in my food. So they extorted me for another 15% although I’m sure the staff makes far more hourly than the $10.81 Colorado waitstaff wage that tips were designed for. I do not complain when my table is dirty at a fast food place that asks for no tip. But when a tip is required, I expect service for that 15-25%. At minimum, a clean table and staff to box my leftovers and take my trash then clean the table when I leave ready to welcome the next guest. That is not this place. It is a fast food place that demands tips with no waitstaff. Was my first time trying this Colorado icon, and I’m sorry to say, despite the great food I will never return. If I could afford a 15% tip, which is their minimum with a cashier staring on, I would go to a full service restaurant. No option for custom tip or “no tip” but an employee, responsible for my food, staring on. Dear owners: Please change this practice as tips are for employees making the 2023 Colorado waiter wage of $10.81 hour. Put a tip jar for cash out so tipping is a choice, not required while an employee stares and judges your customers.
