Whenever we thought we found a top brunch, the nice guy changed that thinking. Bringing along a top menu plus the typical great american service, this institution has raised the standards again. An understanding manager plus top service.

Food & vibe were amazing. We went there on a Monday night and it was still lively. They had live music and it was a lovely chill, elegant and classy vibe. The food was incredible. We got the chicken parm with a side of red spaghetti & salmon with truffle fries. Highly recommend.

I was invited to dinner at the Nice Guy to celebrate my upcoming wedding and my Fiancé’s bday. The food was delicious, every bite we had was so flavorful and tasty. The staff was extremely friendly, and there was a live pianist who also sang classic songs, the experience was really nice. A BIG downside to the whole experience was how dark the room was. I could hardly see the food i was eating. I could hardly read off the menu. If only they light ip the room 5% more, the experience would have a tremendous plus to it. I do definitely recommend.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 16, 2023, my nephew and I decided to stop at this restaurant to view the menu to see if this is a place we wanted to make reservations/dine at in the future. As we approached the stand at the front door we didn’t even get words out before a man outside at the entrance, I’m assuming a hostess or manager, physically looked us up and down and then rudely said to us that this is a reservations only restaurant. I really have to wonder if we were being racially profiled given the physical body language, and the fact that we didn’t say one word. Did being black have anything to do with it; or was it just straight up arrogant and unprofessional rudeness of someone who didn’t receive better home training and should have? That told me that this is definitely not the type of restaurant I would spend my time dining at because if he gets to communicate such unacceptable and unprofessional insults at the front door, than just imagine the attitude of management inside of the place!!! This is very consistent with the other negative reviews that speak to the poor quality rude management.

I made a reservation one month ago for a party of 5. I called to make the reservation and experienced great customer service and was told they would do their best to get a booth for my party. Fast forward to the day of the reservation i get a confirmation to confirm my reservation of 4. I called to clarify the mistake and was told i could be accommodated by sitting in the kitchen and would be away from the main dining floor. I ended up canceling the reservation. Also, my part and I are from out of town.I was very disappointed with the mistake. I would recommend making the reservation online for paper trail purposes.

We had a relatively nice meal here until we were leaving. When we received the bill, they added an ‘entertainment fee’ which we questioned our waitress on. She was vague & said she wasn’t really sure but it’s some sort of service charge therefore when leaving a tip we left slightly less as we assumed this ‘service’ charge was towards the tip too. Once we left and had just literally stepped out of the premises, we were ambushed by the manager/ a staff member who questioned our ‘low’ tip. We explained that we were told the random entertainment fee was a service charge to which he himself then said ‘it’s a confusing charge and is actually to do with health and safety & does not go to the staff’, but once again he was also very vague about this random fee. He then continued to say our tip was low and we are ‘in America’ and they rely on tips. He was passive aggressive, rude & unprofessional as he stood there holding our bill as if waiting for us to get more dollars out to hand over. We had just paid a $300 bill with an unjustifiable ‘entertainment fee’ to then be confronted outside about our tip. He said he could remove the entertainment fee for a higher tip & I said well if it is not mandatory then it should not be on there! No other restaurant charges this and it is suspicious. He then continued on about the ‘ low tip ‘ in-front of other customers outside too who all agreed afterwards how rude this was. We were all left in shock & completely uncomfortable at his approach. At the end of the day a tip amount is discretionary and to ambush a customer over a lower tip than expected when they have the cheek to demand a fake charge is outrageous. It really ruined the whole evening.

Facilia’s Experience
This was me and my husbands first experience at this restaurant traveling from another state we were just visiting and one of the bartenders were extremely arrogant and boogie straight from the gate. I took a pic of the menu to shout out the restaurant on social media had no idea I couldn’t take a pics inside mind you im an out of town guest and he kept repeating over and over that I couldn’t take photos inside restaurant even after I put my phone away it made me feel really uncomfortable that was one incident. Then he went on to bragging that celebrities come here and if a high end celebrity comes in I would be forced to leave or sit out side that really did it for me. Being a business woman that’s a founder of two successful businesses that can literally afford to dine in here was so not fair to a tourist first time in LA. I will definitely not be coming back here but our waiter was really nice I believe he was spanish he was one of the bartenders we left a tip on his behalf. And our bill was the highest here from every other restaurant that we went to in LA and that’s how we were treated so sad and unimaginable we went to Craigs and Catch LA and had an awesome experience there. Even the owner at Craig’s personally came to our table to greet us likewise at Catch LA we had a wonderful experience ❤️❤️❤️
