Carolyn and Laura Martinez are local icons and The Martinez Cafe is an iconic, restaurant steeped in Pueblo lore. The food is beyond amazing; as delicious as I remember it from my childhood when they were located on Santa Fe Ave. Everything is prepared meticulously, looks amazing when presented and TASTES as great as you remembered! If you’re craving a true Taste of Pueblo, look no further!

I had never eaten at this place until today. I have always just picked up food to deliver as a dasher. Mrs. Martinez is so nice. 1 time she gave me a sample of chorizo, potatoes and red Chile in a little pc cup just to try. I was hooked. Tried to take my brother there to eat inside. But it’s all take out only at the time. I had chorizo enchilada Christmas style (half red, half green Chile. Refried beans, and potatoes. OMG. The bomb. I highly recommend to try!!! Very good food!!!

The Phoenix burrito in my opinion is hands down the best burrito in all of Pueblo Colorado. When ordered on DoorDash The order is always packed with care and they are very diligent in making sure all your items are sent out. Rumor has it. They will be on GrubHub soon as well as DoorDash. Can’t wait!

Coffee was wonderful and the breakfast special with the cheese enchilada was AMAZING. Our server was friendly and very efficient. It’s a tiny place & we appreciated the no phones / control your kids atmosphere. A wonderful meal & quiet conversation was a perfect morning date with my husband. Thank you!

I had just ordered normally have no issues I paid with my credit card over the phone they wrote it down on a paper with all of the information on it and placed it on the bag where anyone could see it. I’m not saying they are trying to steal from us but be safe that’s not ok I don’t know who seen my credit card info now ima have to be on gaurd. To be clear they are nice people and the food is delicious and this hasn’t happened before.

Having worked in the travel and hospitality industry for over 30 years, my consulting firm regularly prepares hotel & restaurant top 10 lists for clients around the world. I have lived in Pueblo now for more than 5 years and a week does not go by when someone asks me where the best food is in Pueblo. I quickly ask a few questions to narrow their focus and then offer my suggestions. The one establishment that always makes the top of my Pueblo-style breakfast list is the Martinez Cafe. In particular ‘The Polk’ is perhaps the most quintessential Pueblo dish with layers of flavors and textures and topped of with both red and green Pueblo chile sauce. Need I say more? The menu is extensive, the staff is extremely friendly and efficient and I love the local art accents throughout the restaurant, including Pueblo’s most luxurious bathroom complete with a sitting area and local art…don’t miss Daniel Luna’s colorful torso next to the window. There is ample parking and if you should have to wait, enjoy the hallway and watch local Pueblo in action. If you want a taste of Pueblo, be sure to try Martinez Cafe on Polk Street. GH

The Green Chile is pretty darn good. I got it with the cheese enchiladas. They are only open for takeout or Doordash.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in P-town! It’s tiny (5 tables & 4 bar stools) but spotlessly clean with local art on the wall and a fantastic cook. Their special smothered burrito with both red & green chili is not to be missed (huge–2 can split it).

A little hidden gem in Mesa Junction. In the past we would walk over and dine in, since they have transitioned to only carry out we hadn’t ordered until today. Called our order in and it was hot and ready in 15 minutes. Price was reasonable. Food was just as good as dine in. Will return!

This is the 3rd local place that we’ve tried to dinner in for breakfast. None of the local restaurants seem to update their business listing or website–with their actual hours or that they’re still only offering take out. I’m flabbergasted! Instead of spreading our patronage, well go right back to the Pantry for breakfast–they’re dine in and offer breakfast all day.
