What a refreshing addition to Marion. NC! The owner was there preparing the dishes. The food was an excellent Asian fusion representation! Everything I had was good but my favorite was the BBQ in steamed buns. Omg. I’ve never had anything like it! The kimchi dumplings we also very good. Everything was fresh, made to order and simply good. The setting is perfect and the view is everything. The decor is spot on. This is a destination restaurant. Go check it out. Highly recommend.

I have never written a review for any restaurant, however given that this is a relatively new place, I figured you could use some advice. Coming into the Maki Bowl I believed that we were going to get decent food with a cool and relaxed atmosphere. I was deeply disappointed once we received our food. I will unapologetically say that the food was ghastly. The ramen I had ordered was of the lowest quality I’m sure the owner could find and the panko breaded chicken had been carelessly thrown into the ramen bowl taking an anemic soggy form with a hard boiled egg. I can only hope to imagine that your other food items do not taste as terrible as the one I had the displeasure of tasting. However, I have yet to mention one of the most pressing matters…the price. The prices you are charging here are so high that it felt almost like a scam to even pay for the food we got given the quality (nearly $40 for two portions of food with only one drink ordered including tip). I don’t leave this review out of spite or any hatred for you or your business, but unfortunately I cannot see this business lasting any significant length of time. With all this being said, hopefully you do not take this criticism personally. To end my perspective on a positive note, the owner seemed like a stand up guy, and the atmosphere was like I had expected very relaxed and cool.

The staff was super sweet. The food quality and taste was 10/10 and the price was is fair. The atmosphere compared to some of the restaurants in the area is much more open and relaxed. the way they’ve decorated and laid things out it’s very open, airy and feels welcoming to groups or single dinners; whether you want to sit up at the “bar” watching the staff work or sit near a window and enjoy watching the town go by you’ll be met with friendly faces and great food can’t wait to see what new items end up on the menu.

Great addition to downtown and so happy this beautiful historic space is being utilized again. The food was great – I had duck ramen and my husband had the brisket maki bowl. Both were delicious. Great flavors! We also had the spring rolls which were excellent as well. Sure it’s a bit more expensive than many folks in Marion are used to but this is to be expected with the soaring costs of food and it’s well worth the price. And they are actually open on Monday!!!

We arrived at this restaurant on 12/08/22 around 12:00 we were expecting a crowd but we’re pleased to see we were to ourselves there is a single flight of stairs you have to climb but the view over Main Street is worth the climb the atmosphere is perfect and we were immediately greeted by staff they were very patient with us and very knowledgeable the menu is easy to understand and prices affordable the chef came out and spoke to us and he was not only very kind but very knowledgeable about his menu and the Culinary world itself we felt very welcomed my fiancé is vegetarian and we were delighted they had options to accommodate. The food was perfect we left full and happy and would definitely recommend 10/10 this restaurant is the fresh breath Marion has been needing

The food here really isn’t bad for what you get. I had the maki bowl before and it was actually really nice, the reason why it’s 4 stars and not 5 is because they ran out of rice 2 out of 3 times I went there, and the wait for more rice would have taken too long. They have ramen there but honestly I wouldn’t recommend the chicken, it looks just like food lion breaded chicken at the deli, and for the price it is, it would’ve been cheaper to just make it at home. The beef one isn’t bad, but the beef is just beef stir fry. If you’re gonna charge 20 bucks for a meal like that, then there needs to be more quality meat in my opinion. Aside from the issues of keeping items on hand and the hours changing at the place, it’s a nice little place to eat, but it is expensive for what it is. I understand that there’s an issue with staffing and supplies but when it comes to not having enough rice, that’s a problem.
