Great setting on Otter Creek. The pork taco is excellent. Some of the best pork I have had. Rutland DIPA Lazy Days was a good representation of great Vermont craft beers. Lost a star on account of your taco shells! Guys double wrapping your ingredients doesn’t fix the problem. Your soft shells are too soft to hold a taco together. Even doubled they collapsed when you try to pick up your taco. Work on the recipe.

If you want terrible inauthentic Mexican food and the worst service in Vermont, this is the place for you. Usually the service

Let’s start on a good not the food is excellent. However the pricing is a bit much. $16 for a very simple taco. $6 for 5 uncut tortillas and salsa. At least cut the tortillas. The service was lousy. The staff essentially ignored us. I also understand just having water be self service however when you let the water run out don’t tell a customer that if they don’t want to wait for the water jug to be refilled then they can buy a bottle, just fill a glass for them.

This is a perfect spot for local college students, or anyone in search of a good, quick bite and a beer. On an absolute taco scale, it might not score that highly. Which is to say that it likely wouldn’t trounce its Texas or SoCal peers in a taco-tasting contest. But for a little spot tucked next to a babbling brook—in a region that prides itself on bland foods—you couldn’t ask for better. The chicken tacos and pork carnitas offer hearty helpings of meat, ratcheted up by a numbered set of house-made sauces that increase in heat the higher you go. And a “wet” burrito lived up to the proprietor’s promise that you “won’t leave hungry if you order it.” The tostadas and salsa, meh. Didn’t try the wings, but wish we did.

Ingredients of the chorizo taco are excellent. It would be 5 stars if the tortillas were heated on the grill. They weren’t, so the tacos were too cracked to pick up! Ate them with a fork instead

Great food and drinks. Their margs are solid and the burritos take the cake. Great vibes all around. Their staff is friendly and courteous. With outdoor seating right beside otter creek you can’t go wrong.

Pleasant random stop on a Sunday drive. I happened to stop in Middlebury VT and decided to stop in to see what the Mad Taco was about. After looking at the place and the menu I decided to give it a try. I’m very glad I did. The place is casual, fun and the staff friendly and welcoming. The prices are fair and the Cubano sandwich I got was enough for two. The sandwich was really quite spectacular. I feel a little guilty not trying a taco.

Mad Taco did me right! The guac is excellent, and the kimchi tacos hit the spot. Washed it all down with a Schilling pilsner – super yum. Might just come back tomorrow.

Delicious wet burrito, enchiladas, and house margarita! Didn’t love the homemade salsa, but didn’t have room anyway as the entree portions are very generous and it all came out at the same time. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely little place on the banks of Otter Creek in Middlebury, VT. The wife had a sweet potato and black bean burrito which said was to die for. My Bid Daddy. fatty burrito bowl with Chili Colorado pork (pictured) was awesome.
