I ordered oxtails with sweet potatoes and pinto beans. There was nothing to write home about the sweet potatoes. It just didn’t feel like anything was done to enhance the sweet potato and bring out the enriching flavors. The pinto beans taste grease to me. I had to add some slap ya mama to be able to eat it. But I like the oxtails. It wasn’t full of fat and it had a lot of flavor. I did add some slap ya mama because the flavor was right on the edge, at least for me, at reaching the desired taste. Now I had some chicken and dumplings and I would have to say it was great! From conversation, it was the first time it was made which tells me he has a great taste pallet but it feels like he’s cooking for everyone and not what he would actually make for himself. Everything I ordered had me wanting to know how he would have actually prepared for himself. Oh the sweet tea was awesome by the way and I like the cornbread. I just wish the cornbread was a a little thicker.

All I can say is WOW! Me and my boyfriend are visiting from Oregon (a state that normally has a lot of vegetarian/vegan options) but I have never had a meal so flavorful and filling that is all plant based. This was definitely the best place I’ve been to that has both meat and meatless options. We will definitely be back the next time we visit!

I ordered the 1/2 pound rib plate and an original hot link. I’m from Port Arthur and my favorite barbecue spot in PA is temporarily closed for repairs. I could not believe how much I loved my meal. The ribs were great and so was the link. My only critique….. just figure out a way to drain the grease out of the links. The flavor of the link was perfect. I love my links with a kick. The young lady working the window was pleasant and delivered fantastic service. I wish this business continued success. I will be back VERY soon.

I placed my order before picking it up. I get there 15 minutes later and they tell me they don’t have what I ordered. After taking my payment. Not before didn’t get a call back or anything to let me know anything. I paid for 2 pork-chop plates and ended up with bacon eggs and rice. Not to mention I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the orders to come out and was late to work.

Heard about this place on Facebook it kept popping up in the feed. Just got back from there order me a stuffed turkey leg acheoufete. Damn that was real good tender and moist anymore tender it would have been falling off the bone. Just need more people to SUPPORT this business here. This is a real good spot. Drove from PA to BMT
