Stopped in yesterday for my first time. I’ve lived in MA and have always been close to the coast to get fresh oysters, but since moving to VT, it hasn’t been easy to find good oysters nearby.

We moved to Keene about 8 months ago and had yet to find a spot we connect with and thoroughly enjoy, until The Laughing Gull. Every time we go in there, we are greeted with amazing service. Ignacio and Chris are always so charming and pleasant to talk to. Their seafood is fresh and oysters are great (finally a good seafood place in Keene)! Thanks for adding a welcoming and fun spot to this town!

The ambiance is great! Love steel pan music on a Thursday adds to it all. The drinks are good, the oysters to die for! The service was good. Mixed with the outdoor seating and the music, you forget you are on Keene. The only reason it wasn’t 5 stars they didn’t have a few of the beers on the menu. The food came out hot. I had the fish sandwich which was decent. The tater tots were a great option! Check out the rotating drinks menu.

Second visit to the Laughing Gull the place I constantly call The Flying Seagull! It was a perfect day to sit out on the patio and enjoy a drink with friends. The cocktails were great but the food was even better. We shared a few appetizers, the best onion rings I’ve had in a long time. I asked if I could order something to go for my husband, something their not doing right now but they did for me. He wanted the picture he saw on social media, scallops, fries and coleslaw that’s exactly what he got and it was delicious. Met every expectation! If you haven’t tried this new restaurant, it’s a must!

Went out 2 weeks ago for some Oysters and Tacos. Oysters were alright, nothing to be wowed by. They were delicate and had a nice soft brine. The atmosphere was blah, the only thing that was enjoyable really was our server, they were great. Tacos were done on a cold commercial tortilla. Tortillas should always be cooked for Tacos. Over all probably won’t be back here, its just an over priced establishment for “the bros” to hang out with their Dad who’s visiting from Connecticut and wants to harass the ladies. Good luck with those endeavors, no business has been able to stay in that building for long

Seafood chowder is phenomenal. Like, Boston worthy. Eat it, you will not regret it. Clam strips are good, their tartar sauce is wicked delish, and the shrimp are massive and fresh. Cocktail sauce is well balanced. Onion rings are like bloomin onion style- so flaky and flavorful. Fries are hearty with nice salt and pepper so theyre not underwhelming. Will be back to try more things.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and disappointment in presentation. I ordered fried clams paid full price and was served 12 clams. They took a whole order split into two orders and charged full price for two orders. The mussels were over cooked. The oysters were also a disappointment. The drinks were decent.

Went for an early dinner, at 4pm open time. Very nice sea/beach decor. Great liquor/drink/beer menu. Friendly staff. Still getting going, doesn’t have full menu, no burgers yet, but the food they have was good.

New England clam chowder was incredible. Very well blended and textured. Coconut shrimp and steak tacos were great as well. Quality food here and the staff was very friendly.
