There’s a new kid in town. Last Call is the latest family-owned restaurant by the creators and former operators of Portobello’s. Located in Salinas City Center, Last Call is a bar and grill currently serving beer and wine (full liquor license is in the works) and a casual menu featuring burgers, wings and a hefty list of appetizers. For those with an eye on the waistline, we also offer salmon, swordfish and a flap steak served with steamed asparagus. Or maybe a fully loaded baked potato or a wedge salad is more your style. We are newly renovated, have the game on one of our 5 TVs, and hope to have you visit soon.

This review is a little late coming, but I have came back a few times and it does seem that there is something slightly off about this establishment. I went in last Friday 2/24/23 and the place smelled like sewage in the back of the restaurant.

I recalled this location as the old Penny Farthing. We decided to check it out. Normal beers on tap, ice cold and tasty. My wife tried the tri tip sandwich and I had the carnitas tacos. Both portions were very generous. Loved the bright open feel of the place with still a pub type vibe. Staff was very friendly. We were in at noon and it wasn’t busy at all. Definitely worth a try.

If it wasn’t for our bartender it would’ve gotten a much lower score. For being a ” Bar and Grill” they have figured out the bar piece but not the grill. We were warned for the wait on the food, which was fine. But when it came we got the wrong thing, and didn’t even bother sending back after waiting an hour. Burger didn’t have much flavor.

Great vibes, clean place, delicious food, FULL bar! I love the ambiance. Albert made me a fantastic mule and clearly cares about the customers and takes pride in his work. Lots of fun beers on tap. Dinner specials. Highly recommend this place.

Drinks were ok. Mixed in the cup we drank in, so drinks were to strong or to sweet. No mixing in the mixers. Also owner had our chairs taken away from the bar to make room for late night dancing. Didn’t wait for us to finish our drinks. Just left

Got the cheesesteak sandwich. It was ok. Everything was just ok. Extremely slow service and food came out sporadically. I think the last person got their food about 30 mins after the first. Overall a bummer.
