Excellent food. The owners takes pride in their food. Everything was delicious and fresh. BUT the Baklava. I have eaten in Greek restaurants all over and this was the best baklava I have ever eaten. It is a bit tricky to navigate to this restaurant.

This is the Best Greek Food I’ve ever had! Over the years I realize that I’ve eaten in Greek restaurants in Atlanta, Charlotte, New Jersey and New York and all of them were special but to find The High Country Greek within a mile of our Airbnb in Boone was a wonderful discovery. I would advise people to use Google Maps because there are no flashing signs to mark the spot. To the contrary there is just one small blue yard sign at the entrance to the Deer Valley Athletic Club. We got the sampler platter and loved everything on it. We also got the Baklava which was So Good we tried to get more before leaving but sadly, for us, they are closed on Sunday. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcomed and we will always come back when ever we visit Boone, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk.

The only negative thing I have to say about my experience is that I waited too long to try them out. I will definitely be back many times in the future. Everything was fantastic. The lamb gyro was delicious, fries were fresh crispy and perfectly seasoned, the staff was friendly, and the portions are ample especially for the price. I can’t wait to try the baklava, I was so full I had to bring it home with me. Looks too good to pass up though. This place is the true definition of a hidden gem.
