Had an amazing experience, marcelen (which I’m sure I misspelled) was absolutely wonderful made my beef gyro platter perfectly- not only I but my 1 year old devoured it with enjoyment. The mint lemonade was fantastic, I highly recommend. They were welcoming the moment we walked in, easily understood how I wanted my food. So happy to have chosen this place over the restaurants near them. 10/10 recommend and will be going back!

I want to preface this by saying that the workers here are always super friendly and helpful. The food is always tasting fresh and delicious. I ordered here every month or so, but have recently noticed the portion cut in their platter which disappointed me. I always ordered the regular size in which, previously, approximately half of the plate is packed with the rice and meat. I thought this was fair. Recently, it seems less than half of the plate is filled with the rice and meat. Most of it was stuffed with the lettuce and tomatoes. The rice itself also was lower in depth, it was like they just pat and flatten the rice just to cover some procedural surface area that maybe they’re required to fill, but it lacked volume. The same applies for the amount of meat they give now which used to be generous. It seriously feels like the regular size can fit in their smaller size order if you subtract the excess lettuce and tomatoes they give.

I had the app so my platter was free I really enjoyed the free promotion overall there prices are amazing you get a full balenced meal for around under 15 dollors th staff there are very welcoming and super freindly the overall vibe of the place is amazing. The food is instantly ready so theres also no wait time on the gyro platters once you order the food its served.

We got the Chicken Sandwich and The Beef Gyro Platter. The chicken was unseasoned and therefore didn’t have much flavour. The beef platter was the same. We added the white and red sauce yet we both wasn’t satisfied. We was very disappointed which is a massive shame as we was looking forward to eat. The two stars are for the absolute friendly staff that greeted us when we came in and came to us if we wanted any more sauce too which is good. The portion sizes are good and the price was reasonable.

I know a lot of people like this stuff but I can only compare gyro and shawerma to the ones I have had in middle east and Turkey and many so called gyro and shawerma spots in Houston and some other cities in US. Here’s the deal, if you don’t have the meat served by carving it thin right off the vertical spit, then sorry to say it is NOT a GYRO or anywhere near a SHAWERMA. Secondly the pita bread needs to be real pita bread not the make shift pre-packaged ones that have a yeasty smell and a totally different texture compared to real pita or shawerma bread. The problem with Halal guys gyro is multi fold. They pre-grill the meat and cut it very thick almost like a fajita and then store it in warm pots before it gets served. Then they drench the meat with so much sauce that the actual taste of meat is lost and rightly so cuz in many cases I found the meat to be not seasoned properly and lacking any flavor. Then the pita bread they serve is not anything like pita bread. So in all if you like fajita meat drenched in sauces then you will like this but if you ever had real gyro or Shawerma in your life, then this is not the place for authentic stuff.

So I haven’t got my food yet so I will likely come back to update this but if it’s as good as thier customer service I’m for sure coming back. Nowadays companies make simple fixes so hard not the case with halal guys. I ordered through Postmatesbecause they had a bogo. Instead of ordering 4 I accidentally ordered 3. I was unable to cancel in the app and I called them and they fixed it so easily “no problem I’ll put the fourth one on there.” So nice and it wasn’t even their fault it was mine. Made it simple like it should be . Five stars!

Pearland’s outpost of this famous NYC eatery is right next to Panera at 288/Broadway and across from Coldstone. This location is not advertised at Broadway/288 well that many folks do not know it’s here. It’s a shame because it provides a great Halal fix. The food is tasty and the staff is awesome. I hope more Pearlanders find this place soon. Halal Guys is clean and affordable. Go light on the hot sauce at first . They will be happy to add more if you need it. Enjoy!
