The first thing you need to know about this place is that the line is LONG. I came here at 9:30 and waited in line for an hour before getting my food. I didn’t expect this at all, but I guess I should have since this is the original halal food truck in NYC. If you can stand the wait, the food is excellent! I got the chicken platter and it was totally worth it. Very good. Their hot sauce is no joke either. It is HOT. Makes some other hot sauces I’ve had seem like water so be careful! But the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. So glad I had this experience. There are some benches around if you want to sit here and eat but space is limited. They accept cash and card!

Best food in Manhattan at a great price. You may need to line up and wait to order but that’s because all the locals do the same and they know better than anyone. We stayed in a local hotel and I nipped down and brought up to the room. A fraction of the cost to eat in the Hotel restaurant.

Very disappointed. I am a New Yorker and had a family member visiting yesterday. After waiting 25 minutes in the line, I ordered 4 regular platters and a sandwich. Since I live in NY, I know what halal food really is, and this is one of the worst ones I have ever had. They did not even give us onions and tomatoes. All of our platters and sandwich had lettuce and some type of dried chicken. I personally gave the order and did not say such a thing. They just did not feel like putting them! NEVER AGAIN!

“The Halal Guys” is a popular fast-food chain in New York City that serves Middle Eastern cuisine, primarily gyro and chicken platters, over rice or in a wrap. Located at 6th Avenue & W 53rd St in Manhattan, this place is known for its delicious and authentic Halal food.

This is not ordinary but EXTRA-ordinary!! This bowl of chicken platter was so delicious that we couldn’t wait to eat it but sat at a corner bench. Munching away, the mayonnaise and hot sauce blends well with the kebab chicken which J think was grilled with onions and garlic. There were tomato and rice covered in this bowl of goodness. It’s a must have!!

Halal Guys is the place to go, during a day trip in NYC. Got some delicious food right before the Yankees game and couldn’t complain. One of the best street food vendors.
