The food is good, but not great. The cornbread is thin and stiff. Taste like it had wheat flour in it. The vegetables all have red and green bell pepper in it and seasoned very little, if at all. I do not recommend the boudin egg rolls, they are dry and have very little filling inside. The yams are stringy and the pork chop was tough. The fried chicken is good and the Mac n cheese. If you like bland “cafeteria” food, you will be satisfied here. The service is great everyone is friendly and welcoming when you come in. The atmosphere is clean and they have music playing for ambiance. But it’s really a get it and go spot. No desserts and drinks are ok.

Inside the restaurant was hot . The service was great they were very nice. I got the oxtail my first time trying it. The seafood spaghetti was good as well the okra had a tart taste to it the cornbread was thick enough to choke you but overall I was pleased. My mom got the southern fried chicken with the dirty rice and string beans. The dirty rice was very gummy and the string beans had no flavor she was very disappointed . The egg rolls are to die for. They really need to show some attention to the ac unit that’s why we didn’t dine in

I can’t remember if I did a review or not, but wanted to make sure I did. Very inviting greeting at the door then great conversation to the time we left. The food? It was perfect! I had smoked ox tails , my sister had the chops. I can’t begin to tell you how good it was! Definitely recommend!

Yesterday was Sisters Day Out Brunch and Catch Up! We chose a midway point to the two of us and headed out to begin our journey! In route I had a change of heart and revised our meeting plan! We went into TGS and I’m glad that we did. We waited outside in a pretty decent paced moving line. I wasn’t expecting it but I rolled with it. Now had it been June, July or August, we probably would’ve left. Get inside and notice the setup to acquire food, interesting yet again. So many options, yet my pescatarian ways limit me greatly. There is a steam table style means of already prepared food. We chose a meal from that option of grilled catfish in some sort of sauce that the server plopped on a bed of rice quickly, whereas we both would have preferred the mashed potatoes but didn’t object because it was done. Peaceful day planned so we didn’t speak up, this time. Also on that plate was greens and yams. We ordered from the brunch menu, fried catfish and waffles with a side of grits. Yummy to both our tummy’s because we shared everything. We both agreed that the brunch option was much much much better in flavor and taste. I enjoyed it and plan to return for another sitting with a bit more time and more equipped in knowledge!

The best way to describe this place I wouldn’t use the word Cajun. Not what I expected at all unfortunately. It wasn’t bad, just not what I expected when I read the word Cajun. It was almost like a healthy version of Cajun of sorts. Green beans had no flavor at all, and when I asked for sweet tea thinking I was getting some southern sweet tea, I was appalled when I quickly learned the taste was like the Lipton instant mix….. never doing that again. This place isn’t bad by any means, just a bit misleading I would say, and definitely not for everyone. The staff on the other hand were some of the most friendly and inviting I had ever experienced. Great first Time experience but probably won’t be back to get my Cajun fix. The Mac n cheese was about the only thing I would rave about and ever come back for ♥️

First time to the restaurant. Will not be my last! Had the Oxtails over rice with gravy yams and greens. Food was absolutely delicious! Service was wonderful. Grandson had fried lobster and feel in love. Forget all the others and go to the Greasy Spoon! You will not regret it!

Cinnamon waffles were very tasty, chicken seasoned well and hot. Grits with gravy very original idea and tasty but a bit spicy if you don’t dip off some of the pepper. Got oxtails to go. they were very meaty and tender. Music was great but a bit loud for me. Definitely a return place.

Friendly , clean and welcoming atmosphere, the food was delicious, definitely a taste of big mommas soul food . I had the oxtails over rice , Mac and cheese and sweet potato yams EVERYTHING was seasoned to taste and when I say they are not stingy with the food they are not , I was not disappointed. It is a bit pricey and some options are not priced on the menu so you may be surprised at the counter lol , but the food will not disappoint. Would eat here again for good quality soul food
