Went by myself for a quick mimosa before going to the Art Institute. Place was PACKED. Sat at the bar. Bartenders were very nice. Received a menu and drink in 2-3 minutes! Check back often. Really solicitous. Had amazing fried pickles. Made with a crunchy tempura batter and a spicy mayo dip. SO yummy. Portion large enough to share. I’d definitely go back!

Great menu! Really enjoyed the salad and the burger. Wine and cocktail options are also quite good. The cauliflower steak deserves a special shout out… my wife loves it and it is so good!

Normally one of our first restaurant trips when we visit Chicago. The Gage never disappoints.

Nice ambience. We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was perfect. The menu is small but thoughtfully crafted. The only recommendation would be to place your tables a little socially distant, which was missing. Overall good dining experience at The Gage.

I was visiting Chicago for work and this spot was near my hotel. The vibe and atmosphere inside was really cool and the service was great. The server recommended the venison burger so I got that. It was decent but nothing to write home about. It looked great but was missing some flavor.

Yuge burger. Fresh fries. Delicious cocktails. Convenient location. Great atmosphere. What else could you ask for? Plenty of seating at the bar. Outside patio is on the bigger side and fully shaded as well. Service was on par with the prices. I thank the Heavenly Father everyday that I came here instead of Billy Goats.

I wasn’t happy after the visit. I ordered a soup and wasn’t told it is served cold (otherwise, I wouldn’t have ordered it). Our waiter was sick (runny nose and cough). The cocktail called “Starry Night” looked nothing like it and was horrible in taste (we couldn’t finish it). The asparagus were roasted too much and thus just dry and untasty. The only good thing was the burger

Went with a friend around noon on a Sunday with no wait for 2. Awesome food and service. Some items are pricey, but there are affordable options as well. We weren’t rushed when we stopped in to escape the heat with luggage in tow, and were able to enjoy ourselves while killing time until we hopped on our train.
