Service was great. Steak was a little salty but also very good. I have no complaints. The restaurant stays busy so I’d recommend a reservation, especially on weekends. There is no sound barrier between the bar and the dining room, and the entire building is in desperate need of acoustic treatment. As a result, weekend nights can be a bit boisterous in the dining area

I wanted to love this place but was left very underwhelmed. Let me start off with the positives though, the flatbread we shared was delicious and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful. The service was where we had issues. While the staff were very kind and respectful, it seemed as though people were not assigned to specific positions as it was very difficult to track anyone down and get assistance when it was time to order or get the bill. There was also confusion with the bill and being charged for an entire bottle of sparkling water instead of a glass. Overall there was just a lot of confusion.

I stopped in for dinner on a whim with my family. It was my first visit, but certainly won’t be my last.

We held our daughter’s baby shower at the Gables at Chadds Ford today. To say that it was amazing is an understatement. Carol and Jess were spectacular. They made us feel so special and they were absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing. The place was immaculate. We would highly recommend this venue for any special events you are planning.

We always have an exceptional dining experience. Food quality is top notch and the service has been impeccable. We enjoy a comfortable meal that allows us to enjoy dining without being rushed. Definitely our go-to date night meal! Wine selection and recommendations are always spot on!!

Friendly staff. Got married here 4 years ago and it was our 1st time back but worth the hour drive. Great for a bite to eat at lunch, even a fancy date night, or just to have drinks. 100% recommend trying The Gables at Chadds Ford if you havent. Ann the owner is a fantastic person and her team! Phillip did a great job taking care of us this visit.

This was the 1st time I visited The Gables. Needless to say overall it was a mediocre experience. I had the Brick Chicken and was not brick chicken. It was chicken breast with a sauce on it. Drinks were good. We had 6pm reservations but were not offered their Happy hour menu which is advertised on their social media from 4:30-6:30pm. Finally as I was walking out and wanted a photo of my husband and I since it was our 9th anniversary but the hostess told us to ask the bartender. We did not ask the bartender because she started to approach a lady who just sat at her table. I was so looking forward to this place but will not be back

It was different than the first time I went .The menu was limited, and the food wasn’t as good as I remember . I tried the brick oven chicken (my friend had it the last time we came and it was amazing) but I sent it back because it wasn’t good. Now , the Mashed potatoes were everything, but the chicken was just uneventful .I ordered the tacos which were unimaginative as far as flavor , but the waitress made up for that by bringing me a bowl of Mashed potatoes!! I’m gonna give them another try and go at dinnertime to see if it was just a bad day for them, because the atmosphere there is everything !

Noticed the restaurant while driving by and decided to stop for dinner on the way home for our anniversary. It was quiet on a Sunday night, no need for reservations even though we made them. The outdoor patio looked cozy and attractive as we passed. We sat issue the dining room which was cute. A little loud as some mentioned because of the hard surfaces and low ceiling but it’s an old building.

This is a rustic and historic resturant off Rt 1. Inside it is dimly lit. Probably a nice ambiance at night but its daytime and I love natural light so i decide to sit outside. That wasnt much better. Lol. There was a canopy type tent and stone walls, and flooring so it didnt feel “open”. Nevertheless, we make the best of it. The Server was nice and attentive. The food was….well…blah. I didn’t care for my meal; 4 lobster ravioli. My appetizer, calamari, was like frozen rubber rings fried up. Oh but wait. The chocolate martini was lovely. As a matter of fact, Im going from 2 to 3 stars on that martini.
