Will not come back unfortunately, we waited nearly 2 hours from the time we were seated to the time we got our food . There were a total of (3) parties there and the (2) were there before we arrived, and flavor was definitely not worth it. They didn’t have a lot of the drinks either as the bartender did not come , and also were short on their food supply. The waiter was very polite and apologetic for the wait and mentioned it was only (2) of them that night , and I feel bad for them , but it was just not worth the dining experience, nor the price . The food lacked overall flavor and quality , I imagine some of the plates were actually cooked and hopefully that’s why it took so long ; however , as they were so understaffed , when our food came out it seemed as if the food was then microwaved as the plates were very hot. The French soup was pretty bad , and the cheese wasn’t melted when it came out. The food seemed also it was fried with the same old oil and the fried onion rings were burnt. In addition, the fried calamari was probably one of the worse I’ve ever had — more batter than calamari, lacked flavor and it just didn’t have great texture. Management needs to do a better job with having sufficient staffing , food supply, and the customer dining experience.

I understand restaurants are struggling right now so this review is not about the slow service or how they we out of several menu options.

My husband and I went to this restaurant and we were definitely impressed! The ambiance was beautiful and my food was amazing! I ordered the stuffed Catfish and not only was it fresh but it tasted amazing. Our server was very attentive and pleasant and gave us true service with a smile. My husband ordered the Gumbalaya pasta and loved it and the seasoning was superb. We will be back to visit here soon.

When I walked in the restaurant it was completely empty on a Sunday morning. This was surprising because I’ve been trying to check this place out after receiving a coupon and checking out their website. I placed my order, coffee easy right? Nope, not really, the server tells me sorry but we out of creamer. I’ve NEVER been to a restaurant that serves brunch and be told that they are out of creamer. The hostess went next door to Kroger to purchase. I should have left at that point. I placed my order….no waffles either. About 30+mins later my food arrived, mind you I was the only patron. If I had some cash, I would have paid for my coffee and left. The food was okay, I never received the grits that came with the meal, I really just wanted to eat and leave. Needless to say I wont be returning.

About 8 of went there for a girlfriend’s birthday this past Sunday, April 18 and we were basically the only table inside. We ordered drinks and some beignets. And then proceeded to order our meals. Almost an hour later our food came out. My biscuits and gravy were horrible, the gravy looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for weeks. One of my friends asked if her side of gravy could be thinned out and warmed up – but again, took forever to get back. Over easy eggs were broken and served. The bacon all looked liked it had been thrown on the grill, flipped once and put on the plate. So not only was food horrible but so was the service. Not one time did our waiter – who was the assistant manager apologize for the lateness of the food at all. It is ashamed, because it is such a cute place inside. But none of us will be back.

Mother’s Day brunch here was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in the Vinings Area. The service was extremely slow. There were only 8 families dining inside with six or less people and two families outside dining with with less than five people. There were two servers and one of the servers only waited on one table leaving seven inside & two outside tables to the other server & the hostess who was not very helpful either. The drinks & appetizers came out quickly. The entree’s however took over an hour, then we were still asking for condiments that should have been with the dish. The grits were so cold that the cheese was sitting on top & they both were the same temperature. They came 15 minutes later after asking & the replacement grits were hot but under cooked. We were never offered refills. No one checked on us . We had to flag down the one server or hostess.

The restaurant is too cute nestled in the corner of the shopping center. Full bar with awesome drinks. I love the blackberry Mule. The shrimp and grits lived up to its name and the Mac and Cheese bites were soooo cheesy. If you are a cheese lover you will not be disappointed. I was able to get in and out for lunch with both problem. Definitely will visit again.

For appetizers we had the fried cheese balls (goat cheese). They were not heavy and dipping sauce was very good. For our meal we split the Shrimp Po Boy with onion rings for our side…

This is our second trip to The French Market And Tavern. Once for dinner last night, and against for brunch this morning. Both times we have been greeted with excellent service on top of excellent food. The staff is one of the friendliest staffs my girlfriend and I have ever dealt with, will definitely be back soon.
