A visit to The Flying Hound Alehouse turned out to be a delightful surprise, transforming an initial disappointment into a memorable dining experience. My girlfriend, my parents, and I visited on a Friday in April, seeking refuge from a long wait at a nearby restaurant, with our sights set on indulging in their famed fish fry.

Second time in, not nearly as good as I remember so I’m modifying my review. Our waitress was working hard but fries and soup that came with meals were lukewarm, sandwiches dripping with grease. I really enjoyed my first visit here, though it was probably 16 months ago. Not sure if this latest experienve was just a bad day or if things have declined.

I’ve visited several times over the last few years, and I’ve generally found the food mediocre. I ate dinner here tonight, and I left frustrated and very unhappy with the service I received. Service is typically fine, so grain of salt.

An excellent place to try different entrees as well as a variety of drinks where there be beer, wine, or cocktails. I had the Succotash Salmon, which was excellent-tasting and very filling. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current COVID guidelines. Recommended.
