Why did I wait so long to try this place? My wife, who passes by it for work, consistently recommended it, and on our anniversary, we finally gave in—and what an experience it was! We began with delectable steamed clams bathed in garlic butter. I opted for “The Rexford”, an indulgent Kobe beef burger crowned with a lobster tail. While the bacon marmalade was a tad sweet for my palette, a simple scrape made the burger perfection. I paired it with a finely chopped salad, opting out of fries, and wasn’t disappointed. My wife’s steak Caesar salad earned her praise as well.

It was my first time visiting the place. The food was okay. I wasn’t a fan of the steak and eggs. The steak and potatoes were marinated in something very sweet. The chimichurri wasn’t that saucy. It looked like the herbs were just mixed together and dry. However the chocolate chip pancakes were good. The fries with braised short ribs were okay too.

Atmosphere is clean, crisp and spacious. The waiter (Anthony) and staff in general was very attentive throughout our experience here. And the food was beautifully presented and very tasty! Would recommend to people in the area- we don’t have many good brunch spots in Clifton Park, so this was a win!

Great new local spot! All of the food that we got was delicious! The ambiance and service were great. The manager even came to check how our meal was. Pictured below is the buffalo chicken salad, the Rexford burger, afterburner wings, empanadas and broccoli cheddar soup. All were great!

APRIL SHARPES
My husband and I went here for lunch last week. The service was excellent from the moment we were greeted until we left. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was divine. The fried green tomatoes reminded me of home in the South and the shrimp was seasoned to perfection. I should have taken half for leftovers, but it was too good to save. The waffle fries were crispy and addictive. My husband got the Hangover. He said that it was delicious! We will definitely return to try out more of the menu.

I had the opportunity to visit this great establishment back in May when my son and his AAU baseball team were in the area for a Memorial Day tournament. The coaching staff was interested in organizing a team dinner and some of the parents and I handled the logistics while they coached. After searching and not finding a venue with a flexible menu and the space to host 30 people, we found The Flats. I spoke with Mel (proprietor) who welcomed us with open arms to his establishment. As the day went along the number of attendees grew to 44 and Mel was not worried in the least. Upon arrival we were seated right away and three very professional staff were dedicated to our party. The food and drinks were fantastic and none of the 44 orders had an issue whatsoever. The timing of drinks, appetizers and main courses were spot on with no long pauses in between. I cannot thank Mel and his team for accommodating our party and making sure that we were taken care of. The menu had various dishes for all tastes and the meals were really good (quality ingredients, great taste and presentation)! I would highly recommend The Flats and will definitely be back if our travels bring us back through the capital area.
