Food was delicious! Always love this place. The waffle was soft and buttery. I love their cheese grits. The bacon was thick cut and perfectly crisp.

This is a little gem of a find. The chefs cooking is spectacular, the service was great, and the food was some the best I’ve had in years. One of the favorites are the shrimp and grits. The restaurant is in the rear – not to be confused with the salon in the front.

I want to start out by saying that the staff at this restaurant were absolutely amazing when my original Mother’s Day brunch didn’t happen because they had to close the kitchen, I went on Resy to try and salvage my plans but when I arrived at The Fig Tree I was told that they were booked and the waitlist I was on wouldn’t be available unless someone cancelled. I was devasted to say the least. However, the “person in charge” Tee made an exception and allowed my party of 3 to sit at the bar. The only thing she asked was no complaining but let me tell you, there was absolutely nothing to complain about even though behind the bar they were throwing together drinks left and right!!! Tee was behind the bar working hard to take care of everyone but still managed to get us everything we needed, have conversations with us, and serve us amazing food!! If you haven’t been here, you should !!! Thanks again Tee and Staff for the amazing time!!!

I’ve lived in Birmingham for 20 years, and I can honestly say this was some of the best, if not the best food and service I have ever received.

Always FANTASTIC! Farm to table delicious food! It’s quiet during the week in the separate dining room, which makes it feel very intimate. During the weekends the bar area can get busy and it’s small so keep that in mind.. try to get the dining room or the new back patio outdoor seating. Everything on the menu is PHENOMENAL! It changes every so often which is nice to try new items. 10/10!!! JP and his staff are top notch!

While it only seats about 20 in the main dining area and 24 in the extended dining area, Fig Tree Cafe offers up some amazing food. They have an in-house mixologist who does the signature cocktails and most all of the food ingredients are farm to table. Each dish was very flavorful and the staff was polite and accommodating. I haven’t had the chance to try the lunch menu, but the dinner menu is great for a night out with a date. Call ahead during busy times as it can fill up quickly. The menu also changes based on the season and what fresh ingredients are on hand.

Food was A plus. Entertainment was also excellent: That is, seeing older people in fancy cars struggling to pull out of the tiny parking lot was such an artistic masterpiece and a treat. Haven’t seen a production like that since the time I went to see Wicked on Broadway.

This feels weird for me to do because I used to love this place. About 2 years ago it seemed like a small farm to table style restraunt with high quality food and service. Everyone was still nice, just forgetful. My pet peeve is when you try to remember an order and then botch it at the end and forget someone’s plate so it messes up the flow of everyone eating together. People are human so that’s OK. But the non overlook able are that we also got 2 avocado toast but the avocado wasn’t mashed because it wasn’t ripe yet so it was still rubbery. The coffee was also super cold. And the grits were hard. I promise I don’t usually complain about things. I just hate that it seems like the restraunt has lost something with a little bit of growth.

I hear it is amazing from friends but was closed for dinner on Sunday and Mondays. Menu is bigtime expensive but wanted to give it a try anyhow. Bummed. Staff that was there was super nice and gave us some recommendations.
