If you want authentic southern barbecue, Don’s is some of the best you’ll find anywhere. The hospitality was great, but more than that you get the sense that the owner really cares about his craft and service. Tell him that you care about quality barbecue and he’ll make you feel part of the club with extra tastes of this or that, an inside scoop on the effort it takes, and a promise of more to come when you return.

Had the opportunity to visit Dons while in town. One word – SPECTACULAR! Boston needs a good bbq joint and this place delivers – from the first bite you can tell it’s homemade and infused with love of the craft. Definitely get the brisket but don’t sleep on the bbq beans or the burnt ends! The owner is passionate about bbq and eager to share various things, which goes a long way ! Will absolutely be back.

The food and service here was SPECTACULAR! We came to the Boston area for our honeymoon (we’re from Canada) and we have never had smokehouse food this good! The portions are plentiful, the food it hot and perfectly flavoured! The meat was juicy, yet full of smoke flavour. The mac n cheese was one of our favourites too! This meal has by far been the best on our honeymoon, and we definitely want to come back if we are ever in the area again! 12/10 hands down.

Consistent friendly service and perfectly slow cooked delicious meals from this BBQ joint. Beef brisket is cut to order and the smokey richness is addicting. Burnt ends go quick on the day and was happy to finally get to try the delightful rib tips. Favorite side by far are the collard greens.

So we are visiting from California, and have spent 6 weeks in Texas also this year. The brisket is on point! I could compare it to any bbq place in Texas and it could compare! The baked beans were different.. I assume this is a northeastern style? I didn’t care for them as much as usual, but they are probably a local recipe, and anyone local would tell me I’m crazy lol. We were very happy with our meal!
