Overall, it was horrible. This was the only restaurant picked up the phone call today for a takeout so I did not had a choice. Chicken fried steak was burnt and so does potatoes.

Awesome breakfast/brunch spot! Love the mission, great selection of classic breakfast food with good flavor. The decor is really well done and it is a clean, cozy environment. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was a good sized portion and tasted great.

I had a half-order of eggs Benedict. Nice portion of ham, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were yummy.

We’ve now visited The Diner Vancouver 5 times in the last 3 weeks. We love a lot of things about this place; the mission, the design of the establishment, the food. The thought that went into designing the space translates into the dishes which aren’t the gross, greasy splatter you get at most breakfast spots in Vancouver. The eggs Benedict while nothing new are elevated with the use of layered ham vs a coin of Canadian bacon (ew), the hollandaise sauce is on point too. I’m not a fan of biscuits and gravy EVER, but after tasting my husbands on our first visit, I ended up ordering it on our next visit. The food while being traditional dishes, feels fresh and I appreciate that. I also love their mission to donate the “tips” to the meals on wheels people, that feels really noble and says a lot about the staff working there. All in all, we love the vibe and the food and it’s now a breakfast staple for us.

This place is awesome! I like to eat here since they support a good mission, donating their proceeds to the organization Meals on Wheels People. They also claim to treat their employees with respect while giving them living wages and great benefits. The service is nice, even though the waiters know they are not allowed to accept tips (instead they ask for donations to MoW). I’m not the hugest fan of breakfast food, but their menu is pretty good and I think they have something for everyone to eat. Fresh ingredients, creative daily specials. Their macaroni and cheese was really tasty.

Did not know this little gem was hidden here! Best Eggs Benedict I have had in quite some time! Loved the Yukon Gold home potatoes, fresh parsley…great presentation . Strawberry Minosa was made with puree and so yummy. Clean restaurant, cool vibe like old time diner. Great friendly staff….you should really stop in!

Quality diner food, well priced, good specials, take away case with pastries and pies. Love the mission of this place — providing subsidized or free meals for seniors. Staff are paid living wage and benefits, and all “tips” pay for the subsidized meal program.

What a hidden gem! The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was DELICIOUS. Pancakes were some of the Best diner pancakes I’ve had. The potatoes were good and the cocktails were also great. We will be coming back for sure.
