My husband and I just got back from a trip to SD and the Custer Beacon was recommended by another Saloon. We loved it so much we diverted to spend the last couple of days in Custer. This is a must. We met one of the owners Julie and she is nothing but Class! Great Music, food and entertainment. Something for everyone. Wide open space and all ages were enjoying. A refreshing stop.

If you find yourself in Custer, South Dakota and are looking for decent beer and food…look no further… this is the place to be. Their beer is top shelf and I’m using the Canadian beer scale. Our meals were excellent! The staff was super friendly and courteous. And to top it off…live music!!

The Custer Beacon is the most awesome spot in Custer for a great night out! The music venue and restaurant has got it all – great tunes, delicious food, and fantastic drinks.

One of my favorite music venues in the Black Hills. Outstanding food, chill atmosphere, and great local beer on tap.

This place is amazing. People were amazing. Food was amazing. Beer selection was awesome. Atmosphere was perfect. We had kids and brought our own games and also played some corn hole. We enjoyed this. I wish we had one in Ohio. We would frequent often if we did! Great job!

You order at bar and they bring food to you, only reason for mediocre service rating. Pulled prk on toasted bun was excellent!

Best food on our entire South Dakota vacation! Unique cuisine that doesn’t rely on bacon cheeseburgers. Great atmosphere (despite a few flies). Friendly staff who went out of their way to make our kid’s birthday extra special. Large selection of drinks. Couldn’t ask for more!

This place might as well be the Custer, SD visitor center. We were in town (or just outside of it) for three nights and we stopped by every night for food, live music, and karaoke. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the only MUST during our entire trip in South Dakota. We did a lot: Mount Rushmore, ATVing, hiking, Deadwood, but The Beacon is what I find myself thinking about today at work.

Decent food, good beer. Nothing to write home about, but a bit above average. Went there during the day, but it seems like they have a big night scene. They were setting up for a trivia night when we left. I’d recommend if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
